I bought this case to protect my hero6 while playing airsoft. It did it’s job quite well. I was halfway through the FIRST day of use and took a hit to the lens. I didn’t know it until hours later. I’m still using it because the crack only looks like a hair in the bottom right corner of the lens, and it’s airsoft footage, so it’s not a deal breaker.PROS:-it is waterproof-feels solid-flat black to reduce glare-touch screen back door is a nice feature.CONS:-the closure latch is cheaply made-the seal is thick and hard to get the back foot closed- probably causes cancer in California. (Also a pro)

Well, it fits good, with the lens attached, and screen protectors on.I did not realize the back was all black. I wish it was clear, I just thought the black front looked nicer than the all clear. Also, there is a protective cover (light blue) over the clear backdoor, just in case you couldn't tell right away, like me.And this might be a problem of all dive cases, but it is not easy to get out. I had to use a small screwdriver to pry it out, which scuffed up my gopro.I can't take off stars because of personal preference. This case feels solid and makes a good seal from the looks of it. If you like the all black, it's great.I have not tested this diving just yet. If I use it I'll update.I would like to just use the backdoor with the screen instead of the all black, so can the manufacturer tell me how deep I can go diving with that one?Thanks

I do not like this case. Material is not very nice and i was not very convinced on the design of it.So that i did tried to put the case into the water without the camera to see if there was any infiltration of water and surprisingly after 10 minutes i did found water into the case (happy to do not have my camera on it!!).So the case is NOT WATERPROOF!!!No need to purchase it as is not doing the job to what is designed for.

Case protects it nice but locking latch I have try pry with my key to release. Also touch screen door you have to press hard on to get screen to work since film on door is 1/8 from center of GoPro screen. The fit is good as Go Pro goes in and out of case easy with great protection. I contacted supplier and they were quick to getting replacement sent to me so will update on results of new one after received.

I had a very bad experience with GoPro's customer service when my Super Suit housing cracked from normal use. And by "bad experience", I mean that they are literally impossible to reach by phone or chat, rendering the warranty completely pointless. Luckily, my Hero 5 survived, as I noticed it immediately. Unwilling to fork over another $50 for an authentic GoPro product, I decided to check out this generic case.The good part about this case is that, unlike the silly GoPro Super Suit, this one allows you to insert your entire Hero 5 Black, lens cover and all. I found it bizarre that you'd have to remove that on the authentic unit. As far as I can tell, having the cover on doesn't affect picture or video quality at all (that included underwater). In addition, since the camera itself is waterproof to a lesser extent with the cap on (versus not at all with the cap off), this case has at least some kind of "backup plan" built in if it fails underwater, whereas the original unit does not.The locking mechanism is really tight. Like REALLY tight. And the fit itself requires you to press the camera in quite firmly. I find that, in general, rubber gaskets do better when they're not this severely compressed, but we'll see. It hasn't failed underwater yet (I've only taken it to 30 feet or so).I was under the impression that the waterproof back cover is clear (i.e., both the "touch screen" cover and the "tougher protection cover" both clear). This is not the case. That's fine if you wear this on a helmet cam or elsewhere, but do keep in mind that you lose access to the screen. At least on the black version. That said, the doors from the original Super Suit seem to be compatible with this one. It's not a 100% perfect fit, but it's very, very close. I suspect it'll be fine underwater in such a configuration, but I'm not risking it. For random, above-water activities, I'm confident this'll do its job with the Super Suit back door attached.

Wanted extra protection for my hero 6 case is very tight fitting when locking the rear door very tight like to the point I am afraid it may damage my camera touch screen

We bought this for our gopro, even though it is waterproof. We liked the added protection just in case. The screen is a little hard to use with the cover but overall this was a good purchase to give us a little more peace of mind while using the gopro under water!

The box is black and black like a glove. Use it to protect the camera from running in obstacles / mud for more than weekends. Easy to open and close "unclean hands" and keep sticky gallium from the camera. The protective shell is more easy to clean than the camera body. It is suggested to buy again.
