I just built a recording studio and these panels are incredible. I got the microsuede, which looks like stone if you get the “charcoal”. They are insanely good quality and absorb sound better than most.Their customer service is also very good. I ended ordering more to deaden the room a hair more.

Can be an effective part of room treatment
IMPORTANT: If you are new to soundproofing, you might be confusing ideas. These panels do not block sound from getting outside if your room (unless, maybe, you were covering your whole room with them). What they DO is to reduce echoes (which will, I guess, mean less overall sound). I used 2 48" panels on the ceiling for sound imaging improvement. Their Z clips will not work for what I did. (There weren't 8 per panel, which is what I would have needed) I would recommend you buy those screws with hooks and loops on the end from your hardware store (with matching drywall anchors), and/or with the wire so you can adjust. After installing on the ceiling, I did find a strong imaging improvement. If you are doing a ceiling install, you may want to create a large stencil by taping together large pieces of graph paper (which I luckily had). It will help you orient the positioning of your drywall anchors so that you don't end up drilling any more holes than you need.The PREMIUM version of this kind of panel would be a fiberglass panel. That is significantly more expensive, but would more effectively reduce echoes of lower frequencies, too. Just beware of the limitations of what you're getting.

Fantastic Panels
I have ordered 4 of these panels and am very impressed with the quality and effectiveness of them. They are also much lighter than expected and hung them with the large 10 lb command strips.

Panels were defective
While the panels arrived on time and the packaging was intact just fine, the panels all had manufacturing defects. As you can see from the images the quality is very bad and not what I would expect, especially paying for a premium product. Since I cannot return them I am stuck with them…
