It's a good wired security system.Complicated menu system, and many, many options for setting up.My biggest disappointment is that it doesn't have a connection for a "pre-alarm"; an in-house warning signal. The keypads themselves will beep, but sometimes we come in the front door where there is no keypad and it's hard to hear the one back in the laundry room. The old Radio Shack system connected to a beeper in the hallway that can be heard all over the house, so as soon as you came in the front door you were alerted that the security system was set and counting down.Otherwise I'm happy with it.

Replaced the original one (hit by lightning). Reconnected the sensor wires and redownload the programming and I was back in business.

Had a new house built and was doing the alarm myself. Honeywell is a long time brand for alarms so wanted to keep with them.Overall everything installed and went smooth.My complaint are:why do we still need these massive cabinets that are mainly empty. Offer options if we need more or less space, like compact vs. full size.If you are going to use this on Total Connect, the service isn't that great. The monitoring etc. is fine but the app is horrible. It constantly has to make you hit retry to connect to the unit. This also means delays when trying to disarm the alarm because it's trying to re-connect.We have fiber internet and no issues in our control. We also have the cellular module on this and have let it fall back to that only (unplugging network cable) and the delay/timeouts still happen.It's like the connection between on the backend side of the servers is laggy or delayed.Testing alarm triggers etc. shows it sending them fairly fast so it's just the total connect server is kinda sad. Maybe wish now I tried alarm.com module instead or something.Otherwise the panel itself is great and programming was easy to do with my touch keypad.

I really like the Ethernet network features of the Vista 21iPLTE. I now have complete control and status info of the system from my phone. While programming it can be challenging if you haven’t done it before, there are lots of YouTube tutorials on how to do it. If you don’t have one already, get a 6160 keypad and that will make programming much easier. While you don’t need to have an alarm monitoring company, I do, and they walked me through the steps on the phone to connect with them. I love this panel - and it’s a huge improvement over the ancient Vista 20SE it replaced. I’ll be adding cell monitoring soon. Finally, to make my install easy, I only used the box front door and the alarm panel circuit board from the new box. Everything was completely compatible with the older equipment.

I bought this to replace my ancient Safewatch Pro 2000 system and it was an easy swap. I was happy that I was able to reuse my old 6139B keypad. Its replacement (the 6160) is a different size and would have required that I repaint the wall. I was also able to easily reuse my 5882 RF receiver and all the wireless sensors as well as the old metal enclosure.
