I love just about everything about this light. It is in the corner of our living room and we use it as a low light while watching TV and a brighter light when that is needed. It is not quite as bright as the previous halogen lamp we had for years (which bit the dust finally), but it is bright enough for most jobs. The main reason I gave it only 4 stars is that the switch, which is a flat button on the side, is black and makes it a little difficult to find in the dark. I think they should have made it a different color or put a white dot on it. All in all however, I do like the lamp a lot. It is very easy to assemble, no tools, takes only minutes. Thumbs up!

These will fall over with the slightest bump. Do not recommend for anyone with pets, kids, or general clumsiness

pros: easy to assemble; - - a broad and evenly balanced reflective light; - - maximum brightness appears to be better than a side-by-side GE 50-200-250 watt soft-white incandescent bulb rated at 4020 lumens; - - large-range of intensity via the dimmer 'switch'.cons: the light's Kelvin temperature is a tad bit 'green'; - - the lamp is NOT INSTANT ON; - - the dimmer-function, see above 'pro', is slow to use.remember that this is a TORCH-style lamp.

This lamp is very, very well made/really solid and the dome lighting is great. Love that brightness is adjustable.Two things down grade it a tad. First, I don't like that it has a really skinny neck at the top (personal preference would be same diameter all the way up). Second, the instruction sheet is not well organized and makes no mention on how to adjust the light. I had to spend several minutes pressing on and off to button before I figured it out Actually, all you need to do is press and hold the contact point (button) to change the brightness. It'll start out very slow then rapidly speed up. Once you start in a direction (e.g., increasing the light), you have to go all the way to max brightness, then re-press and hold to go down.

I purchased several LED Torchiere lamps prior to this one. This was the brightest and the one with the most range of brightness -- and a middle of the road price point. I took off one star because the poles were mislabeled. This may sound insignificant but it is very important. In my case pole #1 and #2 were reversed. The pole that screws into the base (#1) has slightly different threading. One might be inclined to just force it into place. Then one would discover that the pole #2 would be loose and would be unable to get a secure connection. Fortunately, I did not try to force pole #1 into place and I readily reversed them and properly completed the assembly. Even with the extra work, assembly took less then ten minutes from unboxing to operational.It is obviously not as bright as my 500 watt halogen that it replaces but it consumes a mere 45 watts on high and about 1 watt on low - I measured! I am very pleased with the brightness and do not think I will miss the slight decrease in illumination -- especially at the the difference in power consumption and having the safety of LED versus halogen.The last point -- I am concerned with the longevity of the touch sensitive control. I have had my share of these type switches failing on other lamps and lights. I hope that if it fails that the company will cover under the 5 year warranty.

This product is very attractive but not expensive. It adjusts to two heights which can be very useful. Touch sensitive, on, off and to dim. I did have a struggle connecting two cords as one end likely got crushed prior to my receipt. Buy it!!

I decide to write a review to correct some misinformation and myths from Q&A and other reviews.After 2 weeks of daily use, conclusion:- this lamp really works with wall light switch that controls AC outlet. It has 1-2 seconds delay. It works for both turning on and off.- it remembers the last brightness setting. It has not failed or reset to any different brightness so far.- it is very bright and I would say luminous value is as advertised. It is very adequate for a large living room, great room or theater room.- it is well constructed and sturdy. While aesthetic is subjective, I would not say it looks cheap. It is simple and out of sight, in fact.- some say the AC adapter is too big and obstructs another AC outlet on wall. It’s not so for my case. As seen from attached photo, I could put a night light underneath the wall plug.I had a halogen torchiere lamp in living room for 10+ years until it’s broken several weeks ago. During this period I had replaced the bulb, between 150W to 300W, several times. The bulb looks like 1/2 pencil stick and costs about $5 each. When it’s on, it’s so hot we can’t go near it.It’s absolutely a great decision to go with LED version for this type of lamp. It’s energy saving and does not need light bulb replacement. My main concern is brightness. No problem there. My next requirement is wall switch compatibility (although it’s not a deal breaker.) That turns out to work wonderfully. Overall this Globe Electric 3000 fits both bills well and a lot more. Very happy to have it!

I was very pleased with the perceived quality of this item and looked forward to putting it together. Each section has a connection so that there is no wiring to handle. A nice feature. Unfortunately, however, when I tried to connect the next to last sections it got cross-threaded and would not go together correctly, and the result is a tilted top section and lamp.  After re-trying many times, I contacted Amazon and received an email offering a replacement, subject to returning the existing one.Aye, there's the rub. The lamp was packed so tightly in the box that I had to tear up the packing to get it out, and there is absolutely no chance of getting it back in the box. I asked that they send me two sections but have had no positive response. I'm not sure what happens next.

Al inicio dudé debido a varios comentarios negativos sobre la lámpara. Sin embargo me animé y en mi experiencia quiero hacer algunos observaciones:1) Se realiza de forma sumamente sencilla el emsamblado de alrededor tres tubos los cuales simplemente pones uno sobre el otro girandolos para enrosacarlos uno tras otro , sumamenete sencillo2) La base es mas pesada de lo que originalmente pensé, supongo para darle soporte como estabilidad a los tubos3) La parte de arriba de la lámpara es un plástico semitransparente, pensé que era vidrio, pero no, es un plástico4) Puedes de una forma bastante sencilla, con solo dejar presionado el dedo sin quitar del botón, el brillo que quieras, quitas el dedo y lo vuelves a dejar presionado y hasta lo tenue que te interese tenerlo.5) No intenté quitarle la parte de arriba de la lámpara para ver el tipo o entrada del foco que trae por si se llegara a fundir, aunque en la caja dice que dira 50 años.6) el cable también trae un eliminador, supongo para convertir la corriente.En resumen quedé muy , muy complacido con el diseño, estabilidad y funcionalidad de la lámpara.Mi valoración general es sin dudarlo 5 estrellas. Si te gusta esta lámpara y está en tu presupuesto, no dudes en comprarla.

Don't waste your money and time on this garbage lamp. If it gives out you will have a hell of a time trying to get Globe to do anything with its warranty process. Mine gave out in late August, just 2 months after I got recieved it. The light wouldn't turn off by the button and it would brighten all the way. I had to unplug it everytime to get it to turn off.Now on to the warranty process. I've been waiting since September for a replacement. They keep trying to get me to get a different model that's nearly 1/2 the price of the one I have. So I keep telling them I'll wait. Months go by and they're still not in stock. They still want me to wait another 2 or 3 months for it OR get a lower model that they have in stock. Then I'm told if I get a replacement it's no longer warrantied.I have the item with the extended warranty, Asurion replacement plan, and they can't even help me out with this matter because its extended warranty plan takes effect AFTER the manufacturer's warranty plan is up.This company, Globe Electric, has it's very Shady practices. So save yourself the frustrations and the nonsense from this lamp and dealing Globe Electric warranty service by totally bypassing this or any of its products. Trust me, you'll thank me for it.

The manufacturer, Globe Electric, claims to offer a 5 year warranty. However, their lamps break down within 6 months. I am currently on my second replacement and it is already breaking down. The lamp dims and brightens all on its own. Sometimes it turns on without anyone touching it and sometimes it turns off. Sometimes it refuses to brighten and remains dim for days. I have other devices attached to the same plug and none of them are shutting off or having power problems. I have tried using different plugs throughout the house.After the 2nd replacement, the manufacturer is now refusing to uphold the warranty although I am still within the 5 year warranty window.

First and foremost: this is far safer than halogen (or other incandescent light) torchieres, with their hot, fire-hazard bulbs.It puts out a warm light, suitable for living rooms; and is dimmable over a wide range -- from very bright to mood lighting.The only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is the switch, specifically the dimmer control. It's hard to get the desired intensity level, because you can't just back up or go forward at will. Once it starts dimming, it keeps on dimming. If you overshoot your mark a bit, you have to go all the way to the lowest setting, before reversing direction. Vice-versa for brightening.Revision: September, 2020I've downgraded my previous rating from 4 stars to 3 stars, because of the dimmer switch. After 18 months of use, I've come to really dislike the dimmer switch. It's more frustrating than even my previous paragraph indicates. Also, recently it's begun to turn itself on, at random times (another reviewer mentions this too). Surely, they could have used a reliable, easily-reversible dimmer switch. It's a shame -- the lamp is great otherwise.

Aún que es de muy buena calidad, la verdad es que me llegó usada y eso no me agradó, pero la he utilizado por un tiempo y trabaja muy bien, pero si te van a vender un producto usado, lo deberían de especificar en la descripción del producto y no tratarlo como si fuera nuevo!
