Feeleez Empathy Game

I bought this for my daughter when she turned 2. I thought this would help her with being frustrated at expressing herself. I used it purely to develop language and understand all the different emotions we all feel. It started as her asking me "what is he feeling?" Then I asked her and she would tell me. Then we go into a story of why they must be feeling this way. So it becomes a little story time along with teaching. We have yet to use it as a matching game but she brings it to me and says "lets play feelings!" Honestly, I was surprised at how much she liked it. I thought it would be too old for her.

I was pleased with this item. I think it would have been nice to include pictures of both able and disabled people but overall I was pleased with this purchase.

These are absolutely amazing - I highly recommend them to anyone working with children as a means of discussing their emotions and learning how to identify feelings!

This is such a helpful tool, I use it to help my daughter identify how she is feeling. And then I show her how I am feeling and she will laugh and be very curious and ask questions. It's a wonderful way to learn about emotions and to develop empathy.We also have fun playing the matching game.

I bought this item for my daughter about a year ago. I was very pleased with the quality. The cards are very sturdy with adorable, original illustrations of kids expressing different feelings. I love that the feelings on each card are not named, so it prompts kids to give their own names and explanations for what they see on the card. It's fun to use as a regular matching game, or sometimes I'll ask her to pick out the card that shows how she is feeling at the moment. I think it has helped us to discuss her feelings, even making difficult feelings easier to handle, and has improved her empathy toward other children. Sometimes I'll ask, "What do you think that child is feeling? Why is he feeling that way now?" Hearing her talk about what other kids are feeling actually gives me insight into what she is thinking and feeling. It's a great way to prompt conversations. I bet you could even use them with a baby who is not speaking yet! Overall, this is an excellent toy. It's fun, open-ended, adapts to almost any age, and helps young children learn an invaluable, life-long skill - how to talk about and manage feelings!

The game is great, and there are many ways to use the cards. We have a great time sorting the cards and talking about what might have happened to make each character have their expression.
