Making Nylon Whips

Brings an interesting view into a different way of plaiting. Not a long book, and the pictures are a bit hard to see at times, but it has very simple and easy steps, and helps you learn to plait the taper of a whip with nylon.

This book is a different way to make a whip. I haven't tried it yet but it is an interesting way. Instead of starting from the handle your start from the tip. You drop out strands instead of adding them. Something to try, but it wasn't exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a more traditional way using a less traditional material.

contains great information on how to make your own. I have made several whips from reading this book, I have also sold many whips I have made from the instruction of this book.

i cant say this is a great set of instructions nor a poor set; this is simply a set of instructions that is typical of any that can be downloaded from the internet for free. i am confident i can braid a whip using these instructions along with some trial and error effort. not a great book but it's okay.

Good book . It will help me with some info I was looking for. It easy to understand, and has good ilastrations.

i have read this book twice. i don't think i could make a whip from the information provided within this very poorly put together manual. the photos provided are tiny, like they were taken with a cell phone and emailed to the publisher. half the time her huge acrylic nails are in the way of what she is doing. such a rip off for nearly $14. not worth returning, because they charge a restock fee (understandable) this is going either in the garbage or to the goodwill. it's unfortunate crap like this gets published.i wish i would have read the other reviews before i purchased this thingDO NOT BUY!if you REALLY want to learn how to make whips, the best way is to find a teacher, barring that, i would research a book first. if i would have, i would have ended up with How To Make Whips (Bushcraft) by Ron Edwards. Couple of bucks more, but you'll actually be able to make a whip after reading it. Whips and Whip Making by David W. Morgan is more of a history of the trade than an actual how-to book.Also, it wouldn't hurt to find people on the internet or locally, if you can, that are happy to teach or pass on info that they have come across. Some people actually DO like passing on their craft.good luck!!

Very informative book. A good reference source for whip making.

You would be better off using You-tube for the information. There was more on braiding than actually making the whip. Only one example of making a whip and it's a very short one at that.
