Nice fan
I've had 4 Hunter fans in the past and all have worked well and I beleive are a great value. I was looking for another to put into an upstairs office which is going to be used more regularly and happened to see this fan on a lighting supply website. After doing some research I decided to get one of these instead of the Hunter for that room. (I did pick up a Hunter for the other small bedroom upstairs and installed both the same day). The fan was fairly easy to wire up once I installed a good fan support. It took a little doing to get it pushed up into the mounting plate but once that was done the rest was simple. The blades just snap into place and the light is integral so I just had to install the halogen light and the cover.Minor quips - 1.) The 100 watt halogen light is not very bright even on full. Granted I replaced a track light with twice as much wattage so I knew I would be giving up some brightness, but I had the track lights on a dimmer and never had them past about 60% so it was equal to about 120 watts. The light on the Minka seems more equal to a 60-75 watt incandescent. 2.) the light cover does not fit close enough to the fan so there is a 1/2" gap between them and there are 3 metal colored screws exposed. I think the glass cover could have been designed better to cover more completely and would give a sleeker look. 3.) there is a gap where the fan meets the ceiling. Other hugger type fans I've installed have fit more closely without any gap.The good - At low and medium speeds the fan is very quiet. With only 3 blades it seems to move a lot of air. At full speed there is some buffeting but no more than any other hugger type fan. The remote works great. I am going to buy the wall switch as the remote always seems to be on my desk when I walk into the room and on the wall clip when I'm sitting at my desk! I wish Minka would put in thier documentation exactly which wall switch is needed. They have several models that all look the same. As near as I can tell, I'll need a WC212. Finally, the fan does look great! It also doesn't seem to be distracting at the lower speeds as the blades are white and there are only 3 of themOverall I am happy with my purchase and would buy another.Side Note: The Hunter fan I installed the same day took a little bit longer to install, but only because Hunter gives you 3 options for mounting (2 downrods and a direct coupling for a shorter ceiling). Assembling that took a little more time, but it was easy to install. The light kit was easy requiring a simple plug in connection and mounting the globe. The fan even included 2 CFL lamps!!

Except for a cracked globe and halogen instead of LED its great! Jeeze...
This fan would have been perfect had the bulbs been LED which give off no heat. But the enclosed halogen bulb got so hot it cracked the frosted glass globe which is enclosed in the package to cover the light. They also include a metal cover for those who want no light, just the fan. I thought that was odd since the glass is just as decorative and you don't have to use the light with either one. But now I know why. I'm going to try to contact them for a new part since I only received this last Friday and it's only Tuesday. I also bought the discounted installation so professionals installed it. (BTW...I also bought the professional installation which cost 47 dollars after the 30 dollar discount they offer on check out. You actually have to get to the final check out page for that to appear on your order. But it's totally unnecessary if you have the slightest bit of sense and a screw driver. That's all you need to install everything. Very simple and fast.) Once they resolve my issue...IF THEY RESOLVE my issue I will change my rating to 5 stars unless I cannot find an LED replacement bulb which will make it 4 stars. Update.....while the original halogen is a 100 watt bulb and the LED replacement is only available from third party suppliers and so far I can only find a maximum of 60 watt replacements....I had no problem getting a new globe from them and the long lasting dimmable LED works fine albeit with a slight flicker at the very low settings of the lumens spectrum. I'm buying more of these fans as I can afford them to be in each room of the house. The remote is easy, install is easy, fan is beautiful, blades just click into place and of course the air moves nicely and the fan itself is silent. The manufacturers include a balancing kit with the shipment but I installed three of them so far without need for balancing. BTW. I used LED replacements with an E11 base. They worked fine. Not sure if the E12 would fit. From what I understand the E12 is slightly longer at the base. Presumably both would fit using LED but maybe not halogen bringing the bulb too close to the globe with an E12...Not sure. Bottom line...great fan and I would recommend it for quality and service.

I wish all fans were this easy
I must have installed a dozen different style fans if not more and this has to be easiest ever. It is almost too easy. I bought and installed 4 of the 44" and 2 52" of this model for my new home and everyone when up without a hitch. I went through great pains to find a fan that was quiet, functional and good looking and this definitely meets my expectations.I have had fans that look good and were too noisy or just plan did not blow air. And I have even had the classic hunter that makes you curse twice for each drop of sweat as you lift the tank to the ceiling. I am very happy to report, this fan is not like those. It is easy to install, quiet and works. What you need to know before you buy:1) It does not support using a separate power line for the attached light. The light is dims only via the remote.2) The fan has the ability to learn the remote which is awesome so you don't have to take the fan down to flip to change the remote code. To have many fans in the same house, just select different switches inside the remote. It looks like it can support 255 fans if I remember correctly.3) The package comes with an option not to use the light by inserting an included plate where the light would go.4) The remote battery is not typical and is probably something you have to replace at RadioShack when the time comes.5) The bulb is a very small halogen which I have not had to replace yet either, but it is not typical, but most contemporary fans use odd bulbs.
