RV Ray's vs FloJet
This macerator is a beast!I first bought a FloJet based on reviews, at twice the price as this one. That thing leaked from day one! (Unfortunately, I didn't get to use it until after the return period ended.) Then the leaks became progressively worse. No exaggeration, 5 strands of hair made it shut down. It never made it through a backwash. Everything made the FloJet quit. It said never to run it longer than 15 minutes, and I had to laugh; that thing never made it 5 minutes before quitting, which always lead to a disgusting pump removal and wasted time trying to figure out what went wrong. Turning the screw on the bottom never fixed the issue. Eventually, it became so miserable to use that I gave up and ordered the RV Ray's. The only thing good about the FloJet was the case, which I now use to house this macerator pump. Now on to the RV Ray's beast of a machine. I have used it multiple times now, as I'm a full-timer, and wanted to wait to give it a review. This pump has NEVER leaked, not one drop. It empties each 45 gallon tank (I have 3) in under 5 minutes. I was extremely leary of doing the first backwash after the problems with the FloJet, but this pump powered through everything with no hesitation whatsoever. After the first time I used it, I removed it to clean anything that might be left over inside. To my amazement, there appeared to be a shredded cigarette butt under the blades. (I purchased my RV used, so who knows what the previous owner threw in the toilet.) However, the point being, RV Ray's kept going - hence my calling this thing a beast! It finished the entire job despite there being an object that would have shut most any other pump down. It has chopped through everything that's been run through it, without quitting or leaking or requiring removal before the job was complete. It has pushed my sewage over 200 feet over level ground to the septic tank. I absolutely love this thing, as it turned a nightmare (FloJet) of a nasty job into something I don't mind doing anymore. I cannot recommend it highly enough. As with ALL macerator pumps, the regular six foot power cord they include reaches nothing, and the same goes for this one; however, I purchased the recommended 25' extension wire, and have had no issues powering this pump. My only recommendation to the manufacturer is that the power switch be placed near the pump itself, as I have to be on the opposite side of the RV to cut it off since that's where my battery is located. This is really no big deal, as I listen for the sound it makes when it runs dry. Other than that small quibble, I am thrilled with RV Ray.If this thing ever eventually dies, I'll be purchasing the same one. It has already paid for itself many times over. Don't waste your money on FloJet's nice carrying case but worthless pump. If you want a macerator that does what it's actually supposed to do, RV Ray's cannot be beat! A++++

Worked Great
This Macerator pump was easy to set up and clean up, it took very little time to pump my black water tank out. It was a slight uphill run of 100' and didn't slow down. I should have made this purchase a long time ago.

Works great for flushing out RV waste tanks
I purchased this Macerator Pump to be able to better flush out the black and gray tanks on my RV. Although I prefer to use public dump stations when available, often the dump stations are crowded, and it is necessary to wait in line to dump. This pump gives me the option to dump at home, and to better flush the tanks as the pump allows you to use fresh water to backfill and clean the tanks. The addition of the fresh water connection also allows you to flush any water from the tanks that is remaining in the discharge hose after you are done.

Not perfect
Works well. Easy to install and operate. I did have it freeze up once, but if you unscrew the end cap, put a flat screwdriver bit on a cordless drill, you can free up whatever is causing the jam and it solves the issue. (mind the arrow as to which direction to run the pump). I don't subscribe to any theories about what goes down the tank. We use our RV waste fixtures like we could at home. That means my paper is soft, my toilet is clean, the washer runs, small bits go down the sink. I have this connected to 50' of cheap 3/4" garden hose and pumping uphill about 5' with no issue. It gets the job done quick! I expect you could go 100' and 10' - 20' uphill and it would still work.

Great product, but a bit slow.
I really like the convenience of this pump for emptying the tanks on my travel trailer. I would give it 5 stars except for the fact that it does take quite a while to empty a full tank. The pump runs intermittently, automatically shutting off for several minutes and then restarting to keep itself from overheating, so emptying a full tank can take 20 - 30 minutes.

It pumps!
The media could not be loaded. This pump hooked up easily with only a need to tighten a couple hose connections. It took 195’ of 3/4” hose to reach a grinder tank access. Had to go up a 4 1/2’ incline from our fifth wheel to the tank. It worked better than I’d hoped it would. Very happy 👍

Don't buy this!!
I wish I could rate at a zero, we used this 3x and it's broken. It got so hot the last time that my husband burnt his finger on it. This unfortunately is the second one we bought, as we bought one for our daughter. The other is still working but it has a short in it , she uses hers more frequently but still, maybe 6x... Don't buy this. Shame on you for selling this garbage 😥😡 update: 2 days after writing this review, the second one crapped out. Spend a few extra bucks and get a better one, or none at all.

Ehhh
It worked great in my rv for 3 to 4 months, and then yesterday it decided to no longer work at all… I use my rv usually 2-3 weekend a month so I wouldn’t say that was extensive use and seeing other reviews like mine, I’m going to try a different water pump.
