Got these for mountain biking to protect my legs from light brush and poison oak. I am woman with fairly slender legs, 5‘7“, and I first ordered the medium. They were, surprisingly, way too tight, so I got size large, pictured. They do actually feel cooling during use, and kept my legs scratch-free. The upper band is still a little tight. I put it over my liner shorts, and it was pretty comfortable, less so when they rode down and it started touching my skin. Otherwise they were very comfortable, enough that I forgot I had them on.Edit: I wish these were longer. I like to put them over my liners, as stated above, because they're not that comfortable on just skin. But they slide down eventually as I pedal. I don't think the sticky stuff on the edge is made to grab clothes as well as skin. If they were a bit longer, they wouldn't fall down as far.

I am a 20-year veteran physical therapist. I ordered down a size to ensure I was going to get some good compression to relieve post-operative knee swelling. There is NO compression if you try to go by the size chart. If you are looking for merely a covering to prevent irritation from knee brace, these might work, but they are so silky that I do not expect knee brace would stay positioned appropriately. Would not recommend to any of my patients and sending mine back. They get 2 stars for the cute cammo pattern & if for some reason you wanted them for sun protection they would be cool and light weight.If looking for medical grade compression check out Truform Medical Compression Stockings also available on Amazon at budget price. I've worn full leg compression before. This is as good as anyone else out there plus less the cost. The lenght is good if your height is 5'6". Beyond that it will look shorter for a taller person.

Bought these primarily for UV protection this summer. I was going up to Maine and likely to do some hiking so I wanted something to protect me from the sun during my long walks. These ended up being perfect, very comfortable to wear, very elastic material but does not slide down. The ends have these rubberized material lining the inside so it grips to your skin and stays in place. These will not protect you from mosquito bites, or at least not the big mosquitoes. I went with the camo design which I like.
