This is the best automatic pet feeder! It's not like flawless, but I would still recommend it to anybody who is looking for something similar.Pros:- Weight controlled portion works. It measures how much food to provide using a scale under the food tray, and although not perfectly accurate it is precise enough. I actual uses food with smaller than recommended size, but it still works great.- Notifications and settings do work. It senses when pet eats from the tray again using the scale. And again it is not very accurate, but good enough. Like when my pet eats 3 grams it might say 4 grams, not something to worry about. You can also setup feeding schedule and it works perfectly.- Very easy to keep clean. Stainless steel bowl is super easy to wash. The container is stainless steel walled, that the bottom mechanism part is plastic. But that's not a big problem, because internal does not get in touch with pet so it is hard to get dirty.Mixed:- App works when it works, and sad when otherwise. When I first received the feeder, their app had an outage of about a full day. I cannot setup the feeder. And after the setup, there has been a few times that the app does not work properly. However when it works it is perfect.- The speaker. The feeder could play voice or recordings to call pets when food is dispensed, but the speaker is not quite good that voice is kind of distorted. At least my pets would not react to my voice when played through its speaker. The speaker also plays a dimmed hissing noise when not doing anything, which is actually kind of common and not very easy to hear, but would be bothersome if I have the feeder in my bedroom. But anyways voice notification when it needs maintenance or anything is quite convenient.- The revolving tray design works, but does not work well. It helps to spread food out, but it always leaves a bunch under dispenser sprout which is hard for pets to reach. I will they designed it to turn some extra rounds when dispensing to solve this issue.Cons:- WiFi connectivity is not too great. I had to move one of my wireless hotspot to closer for it to connect to internet properly. There's many other WiFi devices close to it and all working perfectly well.- The container is detachable, but quite hard to install. It is supposed to be a convenience feature that you can remove the container to refill or clean, and attach it back. But it is never easy to attach it back once it is removed. I will have to manually turn the center shaft to realign it for it to attach.Wishlist:- Extra turning of the food tray like mentioned above.- Extra food bowl for easy to clean.- An integrated camera to photograph pet when they come to eat.Overall I still give it a 5 star because it is still better than my expectation

This feeder appears to be better quality than others. I have been using the app with no issues. I was able to record a message when it is time for my cats to eat. I also love the feature where it will not put additional food in if it's already at an amount that I have set which prevents overflowing. It latches securely, the materials have a nice weight to them, and I do not feel it will be easily knocked over.

When first receiving the unit, make sure to download the PETKIT app and apply a software update to the machine, otherwise the machine is unusable due to inability to apply schedules. Once the software update is applied, then the machine functions as expected.The app needs a grammatical refactor - a lot of the labels seems to be translated directly through Google Translate or similar and don't make sense. You can usually infer what they mean by the setting, hence only a once star knockoff.Some useful features: ability to set feeding schedule for every day of the week, notifications when food runs low, desiccant storage + remaining life notification, food bowl amount, automatic dispensing pause when food bowl is too full (can set the amount yourself).

At first I was super happy with this auto-feeder. It seemed mostly accurate, with the amount of food it was dispensing and required very little maintenance to keep running. But within 6 months of purchasing it now barely functions and always dispenses a lot more food than we programmed it to, which is a problem for our cat who scarfs and barfs if there's too much food in his bowl. Also, no matter how well we adjust the bowl it always gives us the notification that the food bowl isn't in place, and it doesnt turn to evenly distribute the food being dispensed. Forgivable sins, but given how much money this costs it really should last longer and be more reliable.

Bought this to replace another kibble feeder that we have and it's pretty solid as an automated feeder for out cats with a couple of things that I have a 'wishful' upgrades.Pros:- In particular, the fact that it has a scale measuring the food that is dispensed and how much the cat eats per day is a much better experience than the guessing game of 'how many portions' that most of these auto-feeders use.- Stainless Steel hopper - I know that plastics can leach into the food and spoil it, having the stainless steel really helps preserve it longer. I wish more of the base were steel, but honestly, this was a big reason why we went with this one.- Feeder automation is solid, so we can keep a certain amount of food in the bowl, and if there is too much left in there, it just won't dispense, so this is a pretty good way to prevent an overflowing bowl. Overall, this leads into the App which (not perfect) but provides some solid information about how much my cat is eating on a daily basis. So I really like itSuggestions/Cons:- The biggest con I give to this one is that the bowl is pretty low and close to the hopper itself, so I see my cats straining a bit when they go into the bowl. To be clear, this is pretty minor, but might discourage some cats- For the price and how well this is put together, I can't believe there isn't a camera on this one, this seems like even a basic cheap camera would have been a great add, especially since there are sensors right there anyway detecting when the cat is there- Related to the camera, it would be nice if it could use some level of visual AI, to detect which cat is eating (without using an RFID collar)Overall though, really happy with this one, and will probably buy another once our other feeder dies, especially if they add a camera to it.
