Pro-TecAce Water Helmet

I've had one of these helmets for years and bought this one for my teenager. They are very comfortable and has held up very well. The least expensive high quality closed cell foam water helmet that I have found.

I like the color. I have had 2 of these same helmets in different sizes. I am an ACA Level 3 Coastal Kayak Instructor and I do pool clinics in the winter. I insist anyone participating wear a helmet to protect their head and neck. I needed a small size one for the clinics. In the summer, when we play in rocks and current and surf, everyone wears a helmet. Some people bring their bicycle helmets and some show up without any head protection. I have spares, like this one so they can participate. It is comfortable and good basic head protection.

Pro-Tec Ace Water Helmet... Very Comfortable. Does not interfere with visibility or hearing. I wear it when trapeze sailing a Hobie 16 in very rough weather when capsize is likely.

There's an adjustable chin strap, that's it. There is NO rear fit system like in a quality bike helmet.I have a 60cm cranium. After reading sizing issue reviews, I decided to go with an Orange XL. It fits like an XL and is a bit too big. I'll be wearing a hat underneath it, so no biggy. But boy, I sure could use that "Head Lock" adjustable rear fit system they touted.Mine did NOT come with ear pieces.Otherwise, it seems like a solid lid. Haven't put it to the test yet, so if I don't update this review within 6 months, you may wanna assume the helmet didn't work properly.

I brought a large and it was to large for me but I wear it with a baseball so it works perfect.

Do not cover your ears
