The Oudachi is a nymphing style line that helps you get your fly down deep where the fish are and it easily turns over most flies, even large flies (such as streamers) at long line lengths. It does this with a furled fluorocarbon tip section. It then has a HI-Vis Section about the fluorocarbon section so you can see where your line is and as also a great visual for depth control and strike indication. The rest of the furled line up to the rod tip connection is a less hi-vis color. This is a very effective line for fishing rivers with deeper holes, larger rivers, lakes, ponds, and anywhere you want to get deep fast. Having said that, it is still very effective in small streams. It is also the best line for casting heavy flies that don’t cast well on other lines but still works great with weightless kabari flies. Best line for casting in windy conditions.

Absolutely outstanding tenkara line!
This line is outstanding. I have tried others from cheap to expensive. I fish mainly streams and rivers for trout. Some small bass lakes and ponds. I tie my own tenkara flies. It works when the fish are in deep holes. I cast then jig and retrieve in the spots where I believe a fish will be. Let the tenkara fly do its action. It cast extremely well. Wind (the biggest foe of tenkara) does not affect it as much. Just cast low to the water. Moonlit is first class quality and made in the USA! I mainly use the 12.5 and 14 foot for where I fish. I carry shorter and longer just in case. I spent a lot of money on these lines (I bought 2 of every size to 18ft). I received nothing for this review and do not work for anyone but myself. Just the truth from a tenkara fisherman. Just got back from a week in the California Sierra Nevada and thought I should let others know. I did try my friends bead heads and caught fish that way too....so if you are using western style flies ( no judgement..... we all just want to catch fish right?) And want to get down deep this is for you!

It's a fad
I now know why tenkara was picked up as a fad many years ago and fell out of favor. This is a gimmick! By a light fly rod and save yourself trouble trying to make this system work.
