Got the small size of these for my 11-year-old and he's doing great with them. Helps with climbing walls.

Interesting Glove Style
So I wanted to try out the minimalist style of glove and see if I could translate this style to an effective workout routine.Pros:- Light-Weight- Flexible- Water resistantCons:- Only protection is from top to mid knuckle- Not cheapSo I tried these to see if I could replace my usual workout gloves. I am a bit torn on this product as I do like the minimalist style. However, I also tend to need some protection for the palm. This glove only provides protection and grip between the first to second knuckle. Tested these out in an actual Spartan Race. I used these for the first half of the race and my usual work out gloves for the second half. For climbing rope and grasping and pulling weighted ropes or carries this product works okay. But the work out gloves with the cutoff fingers provide superior grip. I have participated in numerous Spartan races and this to me is more of a fashion piece than functional for me. I find it's uses limited. Limited grip as you only get grip on one side, no protection for the rest of the hand and palm. While I can see its use in certain Spartan categories. For pulling, climbing and carrying sandbags, etc .. I can only see a very limited benefit. If you are taking about a dry race where you don't have to tug or climb rope .. I can see the benefit but once you get them wet .. I don't see how this glove can benefit your performance much. But for working out, biking, etc they work well. All and all, these gloves are marketed towards the minimalist Spartan racer. To that market, I think this is not something I would ever use. For working out, etc I think this is a very useful product.

Very well made - protects you hands well
I got these to protect my knuckles getting scraped up during my self-defense training. I'm happy to report they work well. We do a lot of real-time punching where one person is holding a punch-pad / kick-ad and you practice defensive punch combinations. I grew tired of the losing the first few layers of skin on my knuckles and having them scabbed over for a week only to repeat the process the next week. These minimalist gloves cover the punching area of your knuckle bed perfectly, and the leather is a high quality, so I believe they'll hold up. The minimalist fit allows one's hand to move without restriction so all the other defensive actions are as they'd be in a real fight. The coverage -- just on the knuckle bed -- is all I wanted, and these gloves provide that and that only. I love 'em.I was going to rate these four stars instead of five as they're supposed to be large, but they are very tight -- almost like a medium on me. If I were wearing them for the intended purpose - biking - they would be too tight and uncomfortable on a long ride. Using them as knuckle protectors for a 30-minute self-defense class is about as long as I'd want to wear them. And I imagine that after a few months of use the leather will stretch some. But if I were to use them for biking I'd probably order a size larger. High quality minimalist gloves. Recommended.

Great To Prevent Blisters From Rowing
I ordered a couple pairs of these minimalist gloves for my kids and husband to use on there canoeing trip this summer. There will be a lot of rowing and I hoping these will help prevent blisters. The minimalist gloves seem to protect the part of the hand that typically blisters with activities. They are also going to test them out on the rowing machines at the gym.The gloves have a nice padded grip on the inside of the hand. The gloves also have a small carabiner clip to keep them together and clipped to your bag while not in use.We got a size Large and they fit, but we probably should've got a size Medium. You don't want the gloves to be loose or you could end up getting friction blisters from the gloves themselves.Overall these minimalist gloves seem fine. I did have to pull the tag out from the inside seam because that was rubbing.

Spartan Gloves
I requested these to help with arthritis joint pain in my hands, particularly when I am trying to sleep. They actually did help for a while. They kept my joints warm and that helped with the pain. Also, my fingers tend to curl up when I fall asleep, leaving them really stiff and painful in the morning. While these helped enough for me to fall asleep, they became uncomfortable at some point and I woke with with them feeling tight on my hands. This is not the intended purpose for these gloves so I can't take fault with them. I then used them to drive with. It is very cold right now and these did help with my grip on the steering wheel. they do start to pinch in various places and so I am not sure how well these would work for athletics but I say it's worth a try.
