with Litter Quality Disposable Enclosed Litter Box

We travel alot on weekend trips. Two cats come with us. The kitty kan is compact, complete and easy to set up and clean up.

i keep one of these on hand to use for foster kittens, and it is terrific. they have regular litter boxes in their bathroom, and those use world's best multiple-cat clumping litter. but when they get to the point that they want to be around me all day, which means also being around my two dogs and two cats, i need a way to give them access to food, water, and litter without letting my own animals at those things. so we have a dog crate with bars that the kittens can fit through, and the kittens' goodies go in there. this litter box fits nicely inside, doesn't let the dogs snack at the litter bar, and keeps odor down.one reviewer said something about it being a mess to set up. the thing is folded up when it ships and wrapped in cellophane. some of the litter gets in between the folded layers during shipping, so if you just open it up, you're going to get litter spillage. what i do is lay out a kitchen trash bag on the floor, unwrap the box on top of that, then try to brush as much of the litter through the openings to the inside of the box. whatever i miss falls onto the trash bag, and it's usually a tiny amount. and the whole thing disposes inside a kitchen trash bag beautifully. so there's no issue of sanitizing between foster litters there or anything. i love it.

I was using this for my cat on a cross country move. I sprang for this more expensive disposable option so that the litter would stay inside the box and not cause a mess. It in no way managed to do that. From the start when half the litter in the package spilled out onto the floor the second I opened the plastic wrapping it came in, to it falling apart 5 minutes into the first day of the drive due to my cat climbing on it, it remained more a cause of mess and stress than of assistance. Go for another brand or just line a moving box with plastic, cut a hole in the side and fill it with your litter of choice, it'll likely be more durable and cheaper.

The cardboard fell apart. The first time my cat (8lbs) got in it the front fell down over the litter and he had no way of relieving himself. The the back panel would fall and the sides would collapse in. In short, the box worked out. The Veteran should think of some redesigns.

Worked OK for a weekend trip. Only issues are: the litter is very, very dusty and there isn't enough of it. The box held up well, however.

Easy to set up. Perfect for taking our cat to a friend's house to watch over vacation without requiring them to do any cleaning as we just threw it in the garbage when we picked the cat back up.

I've used the Kitty Kan a couple times for convienence when traveling -it's great for what it does however the litter that comes with it is a very low quality litter that does not clump. The 1st time I mixed it with my cat's normal litter and it was great -the 2nd time I forgot to bring other litter and my cat only used it a couple times before making it known that was the right litter for him by peeing outside the box on a rug that of course was not in our house since we were traveling.... word to the wise -you may want to use your own litter or mix good stuff in with the litter that comes with it if you have a picky cat who likes clean boxes. The box itself is always great and works well, pops up easily though be a little careful so you don't tear the cardboard when securing the sides into the top.
