As is
Currently in the market of these adapters, one can somewhat summarize the primary choices available to the relatively average individual. To my knowledge from brief research, it appears that there are probably four routes one can take. The first is the official route which is presented by Fujifilm itself, which is an electronically coded adapter, which supposedly permits certain lenses to transfer information back and forth between the body and the lens. Of course, this transferring of information is rather limited upon closer inspection, as it merely permits the body to apply various fixes in order to counter the likelihood of smears, color abnormalities, fringe issues, etc. This advantage comes with a brief disadvantage, as the physical essence of the codings restrict some M lenses to be used. In the end, the price of this adapter is somewhat approximately $200.The second route is the relatively exotic and upper class route, the Novoflex adapter. Costing about $60 dollars more than the official Fujifilm adapter, one receives a superior engineered piece, which functions as it should, to its highest definition of itself. Without any of the prior electronically coded advantages and disadvantage, it is crafted with the well known Germany-esque mastery; one is paying as much for the 'soul' of the product as the product itself. It is a product of very high quality in its very functional claim to allow one to use M lenses to Fujifilm X bodies and very much expensive. The third route is the route in which one finds over and over again in the forums of the international. The Kipon. The people's choice as it has earned a place in the very hearts of the pragmatic and dynamic sons and daughters of this age; it just has to work, and work reliably. And to most people, it very much does. Significantly cheaper than the prior two, but insignificantly different in use. Of course, there are errors here and there with corrupted batches, but when does that not happen in this world? Of course, where does one get it? Generally speaking, most references lead to eBay. And so, one would have to deal with the politics of eBay, which are in of itself an experience no so different than on Amazon. So what is the fourth route? It is everything else. In this case, as it is in the nature of reviews, it is the rainbowimaging's presentation of the adapter. In many ways, it is almost precisely the same as Kipon, in both philosophy and in physical built. It is constructed cheaply, plastic, and just simply works. For the adapter that I received, it must be mentioned that to actually connect the M lens to the adapter, one had to exert a more than necessary amount of strength and effort. Once it is connected, and the tiny latch locks, it is quite secure, and goes into the Fujifilm's body smoothly, as if it was the natural lens. There is a little metal switch that one can pull to allow one to once again utilize an amount of exertion in order to disconnect the adapter. Unfortunately, this metal switch can fall out, and when it does and is missing, would would have to rely on external objects, such as finger nails, in order to lift the lock and remove the adapter. Surprisingly not frustrating, save for the initial realization. As is already known, the Fujifilm body does not boast to have focus peaking for even its own official adapter, and so neither does this one.In conclusion, to say that the product is good or very good or excellent or bad or horrible would almost seem irrelevant. The product either works or does not work. In this case, it does. The experience of the product may not be a magical smooth one, but it was not necessarily designed to be one, it was just designed to perform the function to which it claims to. And it does.

Why did I wait so long?
I have been doing photography for over 50 years and have dozens of lenses sitting unused since I transitioned from film to digital, including thousands of dollars worth of Leica M glass. With my acquisition of Fujifilm X cameras, I can adapt many brand lenses via these adapters, but never gave it much thought. However, it dawned on me that the 90mm Fujifilm lens while optically great, was too expensive for a little used focal length (135mm full frame equivalent). I then recalled my 90mm Leica M lens was sitting in the closet unused for a decade.I bought this adapter for under 20 buck, attached the lens to my Fuji and after a few adjustments in the menu (adding focal length, turning on focus peaking with red outlining, and enabling the camera to fire without lens), I suddenly had a high quality telephoto lens for my Fujis.I wish I did this sooner.

Excellent adapter
Well, first of all, I'm sure you probably tried to get the Fuji native adapter to begin with and shortly realized that your favorite or "only" lenses you have actually do not work/fit with Fujifilm - Leica M adapter. That being said, This adapter is solidly built, takes all the lenses, there is no "free-play" between the lens and the adapter or adapter/body.Just all around - excellent built quality. Highly recommend.p.s. what I mean by "all lenses" is what I've tested - my 35mm summilux and 50mm DR summicron did not work with Fujifilm native adapter because of the difference in inside opening due to built-in electrical connectors. And the distance seems to be quite generous to accept most if not all Leica lenses.

Leica M lens adapter for Fuji XPro Camera
The adapter appears to be very well made, lens fits on very smoothly, adapter fits well on the camera. Removing the adapter from the lens and the body is equally as smooth. The finish of the adapter is very good and it appears to be a quality product. I shot a few test shots using my 90mm f2 Summicron lens. Nice images. I now need to determine how to make manual exposures all over again. It's actually fun using the adapter and my old Leica lens which are still considered to be of excellent quality.

Lots of play in the M mount
The adapter (which is engraved with the "Fotasy" brand name) is nicely finished, but allows play in the M-mount lens. The lens can be rocked back and forth in the adapter enough to see and feel significant motion. I thought the cross-head screws that hold the M flange to the adapter body might be loose, but I checked them and they are tight. The problem seems to be with the flange itself.I measured the play with a digital caliper, using several M-mount lenses, and it appears to be about 0.05mm at the mount surface. This may not sound like much, but it's enough that the lens won't be parallel with the camera mount. Conclusion: This adapter should be good enough to use for seeing how various M-mount lenses fit onto Fuji bodies, but I'll need to buy a more precise, more expensive brand if I want to get the best results from the lenses. Because this adapter was very inexpensive, I can accept this for now.
