My only complaint and this is a small complaint, is that the interface lead could be 3 or 4 inches longer. Otherwise, this is just the ticket for externally attaching my SSD externally. Transfer rates appear to be fairly rapid, the interface can be utilized with or without the drive case. I'm quite satisfied with this purchase.

I was just looking for usb c stuff in general, wasn't intending to buy a drive case, but saw this guy for less than 11 bucks.I usually carry around a Star Tech Sata adapter like what's in this case, but thought this was so cool, because now I can carry a drive with me (at almost no weight with an SSD), and then if I need to work on another 2.5" drive, I can just pop out the connector.My Samsung EVO is maxing out the connection at 450GB, which is about as fast as a SATA 3 can go LOL....so the USB 3.1 Gen 2 is a bit overkill.I paired this with a monoprice USB C to A 3.1 Gen 2 adapter, so I'm prepared for anything!

I like the compact and minimal design of the Vantec SSD/HDD case. It's a reasonable price, an "Amazon's Choice" product, lightweight and is easy to use.I work remotely with a laptop, and after using the product daily for about a month, I've noticed that it's been struggling to keep a connection steady - it'll disconnect (most likely caused by subtle movements like shifting of the laptop or the table shaking), then sometime reconnect shortly after. I would have to do my own troubleshooting if it doesn't reconnect on it's own. If I could guess, I've probably inserted and removed the USB plug about 200 times since I've received the product, and I believe the USB connector on the one I received is already becoming faulty; but seems to be a common issue among other reviewers.

Great for recycling (128-512GB) SSDs that would otherwise are now replaced by the nvme's

I rarely even use the case but I love that it's included incase I plan on traveling and using an internal drive as an external.

After the 1st one I contacted support. They assured me that it was Gen 2 and supported TRIM. They recommend I replace it. I did. The replacement works the same, no difference. I connected it to 4 different devices (laptop, thunderbolt hub, USB Gen 2 hub, and USB Gen 2 dock). Same results for all.All my other Gen 2 drives and docks work fine - 10Gbps and TRIM.Note: You SHOULD NOT use a SSD without TRIM. Its lifetime will be shortened and it will run slower.

I've purchased a number of these to rescue older drives from oblivion. Turns them into useful extra storage devices. No tools. Just snap together.

So far I like it and no issue. The material is good for the price.

Great product, the cable is capable of the advertised speed. Would buy again if i need it.

Great design, very simple and very easy to use. the speed is above average among other enclosures I've used. it's a plastic box, it's good for occasional usage, for intensive long time usage, take it out from the box to prevent overheat. I like it very much.

en general muy buen producto, tengo 2 y el unico tema es que el cierre del disco, no el del cable, es fragil y con el tiempo se hace duro y se puede romper ... pero nada grave que no se solucione con un poco de Tape ... muy buen precio por lo que recibes ...
