Quilts of a Different Color

This quilting method is not a shortcut for a fast quilt but allows you to be creative with design and color. It is a fun and challenging way to make an original designer quilt. All you need to know how to do this could be written in just a couple of pages so the book has a lot of non essential filler pages to make it a book. It's a fun book for your quilting library, you never know when the urge to design with color will strike.

Lots of great ideas. Other reviews remarked on how the book doesn't have good content - I respectfully disagree. I guess it depends on what you expected. My expectations were met quite well. This book offers wonderful inspiration! I have already been shopping for the materials to make a project using the colored pencil technique. I have tried other techniques (e.g. crayons) but this is definately an improvement on other methods. Her directions are clear and concise and the photos in the book are gorgeous.

This is a beautiful book on a very simple concept. There are several projects to try out and an interesting section in the front about designing your own quilts. I have not yet ordered some of the color setting products, so have only been creating the designs and not coloring. You may be able to substitute other color fixers but I would suggest testing on very small samples and then washing them repeatedly to see what the results are.I really like this book!

I really love the quilting part of making quilts and this looks like a fun and different to make whole cloth quilts. Can't wait to try this - added to my overflowing bucket list!!

This book is very creative. Quilters are looking for the best of the best books and this is certainly one of mine. The genius in the creative book layout is truly inspiring. Permission to move away from traditional patterns into more fun colorful quilting has raised my personal level of quilting development.

Loved the book

The basic how-to steps are good and the photos clearly show the projects but I found the projects and patterns very similar to one another. Not as many ideas as I would have like.

Not a bad book, just not what I was wanting. It goes into a lot of detail for the process. The process was more involved than I am interested in.

Bit disappointed. Don't know what I expected. Guess it's sort of OK but not a book I will read and re-read.

Very good explanations, pictures, materials used. Handy info and instructions to start doing this kind of quilting work. Plan to use one of her patterns to try my hand at doing a white quilt to then colour as I have most of the material Irena uses.
