I bought this for my friend for Christmas, as she is a big time surfer girl. I sorted through a lot of books before settling on this one. I loved the size and color, it could easily be used as a coffee table book. However the images and stories inside make it even more worth it! I skimmed through before wrapping it and was very impressed. Great collection, and I love women empowerment!

Women surfers have been so underrepresented in surf literature, and it is so brilliant to read their stories and enjoy the beautiful images on the pages of this book. More than that though, the author has identified something magical, the true draw of the water and the waves, and the changes it brings about for those who seek solace and excitement there. Surfing is my meditation and my joy amongst the madness, it was the impetus for the business I set up with my partner, and the truest means for me to find my place in the natural world and really understand interconnectedness. The waves may be busier, but the planet will be better for it.

What an amazing read! I actually read the whole book cover to cover in one sitting. Each story is thoughtfully crafted and told with a lot of heart. I love the whole idea of this book and it's something I go back to and flip through when I need a pick-me-up. A great gift for any gender at any age, highly recommend it!

What a gorgeous Book. The look and style is so beautiful. Lara is incredibly talented. I loved the stories from all the women. They were so inspiring. These days it's so important for young girls to see others go through emotional situations and come through and find their passion. Definitely recommend and suggest for your coffee table read!

This is one of the best books I have purchased in a long time. The stories about the women surfers are personal and well written. Women surfers are often overlooked, but this book celebrates them. The pictures used in the book are great and remind me why the ocean and people's relationships to the ocean, mean so much to me. If you love surfing and or the ocean, you cannot go wrong with this book.

This is such a beautiful, powerful book. While I'm not a surfer, I love reading the stories of these female trailblazers, showcasing their inspirational stories in and out of the water. As a mother of a young girl, we've enjoyed reading it together. This is the top book on my coffee table!

I bought this book because I myself have tried and tried again to master the art of surfing - it IS NOT EASY! It is a truly inspirational book - one that has genuinely made me want to get back out their and succeed! The photography is stunning and the women featured are incredible - it's really opened my eyes to a sport that has always felt truly dominated by men. I hope that this book isn't a one-off and becomes an on-going series featuring more and more female - and diverse surfers around the globe. A feast for the eyes and a joy to read. Highly recommend!
