One to re-read again and again
I'm a big fan of The Squiggly Career Podcast so I thought I'd give this a read. I absolutely loved it! Helen Tupper and Sarah Ellis have done an excellent job of curating inspiring quotes, practical exercises, well-researched theory and their own personal stories weaved in. The book is easy to read as it's cleverly structured with a summary at the end of each chapter to help you remember what you have learned with further support and podcast reference and free downloads. It covers so many career related areas to coach yourself on; my personal 'lightbulb moment' favourite exercise was the self-belief wall, however they are all excellently designed and easy to follow. It's a book I'd recommend everyone re-read and dip back into whenever you are facing a specific challenge for example when you're needing to re-address your time management, or further shape your purpose. As an Executive career coach myself I can see how this book can work really well for those without access to 1:1 career coaching, AND also for those who are working with coaches and may wish to explore the exercises in this book with their coach too.Thank you for putting the time and effort into this book, and for making coaching and careers more accessible for everyone.

Clearly structured, engaging and useful!
Helen and Sarah have done it again, creating another invaluable, action focused career handbook (if you haven't already, be sure to read their first book 'The Squiggly Career').You Coach You is clearly structured, interactive, engaging and USEFUL. It provides you with actionable tools, question prompts and frameworks that enable you to dive in and coach yourself to overcome career challenges. I'll be coming back to my copy time and time again.

Helen and Sara do it again
I was lucky enough to be taken through Squiggly Careers by Helen herself when she ran Squiggly Careers for my employer. Both Squiggly Careers and You Coach You capture her presentation style and enthusiasm. My copies are full of notes and sticky book markers as there are parts I refer back to quite frequently.I wish I had had this when I started my career. I think certain parts of it would be of great help to the 15-18yr old bracket in schools.Or perhaps their needs would be better addressed in a 3rd book? Hint.

A motivating, engaging and practical self-coaching career guide
If, like me, you prefer to dive into a business book and get to the sections you need the most, You Coach You has a great structure for this.So far I've done a deep dive into the chapters on Time and Self-Belief and there are a wealth of different and, importantly, practical tools and ideas to try out to see what works for you. I'm trying out some of the 10 time tactics for my different task at work and using the coach yourself questions at the end of each chapter to help me focus and get clarity on exactly what areas I want to improve. This book is really helping move from thinking about taking action, to the 'doing'!I love the single page end of chapter summaries with ideas for further actions. The visuals and quotes throughout break up the text and help bring the ideas for action to life (I sometimes struggle with attention when reading and both of these help enormously). As a long-standing fan of Helen and Sarah's work with the Squiggly Careers podcast and book, I had high expectations for their 2nd book and it has exceeded them so far. I can see myself reaching for this book repeatedly to work through different work-releated goals and difficulties.

A must-have for anyone who wants to pro-actively shape their career
This is a fantastic book for anyone at any point in their careers who want to shape and grow their professional journey. The book covers six main areas, resilience, time, self-belief, relationships, progression and purpose. The reader can choose the area they wish to dive in first. I have found each of them to be extremely helpful and relevant. The chapters include a balanced combination of theory, tools, practical exercises (one can take multiple times), inspirational quotes, personal experience and further reading/resources. Reading each chapter feels very much like attending a live training session. There is space for the reader to make notes and go through the activities. By the time I had 'taken' my journey into this fantastic resource, I had created my own version of the book and one I will keep going back to I am sure. This book is not for lending and it make a great gift idea!
