Don't forget the motor city
This Dvd is not what you think it should be! This is not a copulation of these Motown groups best hits, but rather some of there hits that most of you won't remember. I was very disappointed and have only watched it one time. I wouldn't waste my money on this one.

A last-chance to see our favorites
OK, so the camera work, settings, and in some cases the artists themselves are not at the peak of their craft. But if you're a true fan of Mary Wells, the Velvelettes, the Marvelettes and others, where else are you going to see these videos of theirs. I have fun picking and choosing a few at a time. Kudos to the producers for pulling all of this Ian Levine produced material together. It's fun.

The artist were OK but they were not singing their famous songs!
I thought the artists would be performing the songs that were hits for them!

Of Great Historical Value!!!!
This compilation is of the MOTOR CITY recordings/videos made by Ian Levine between around 1988 and 1993... NOT MOTOWN recordings. Any enlightened fan would realize that by some of the artists featured. Even though these are not original Motown recordings and yes, many sound very much alike due to being cheaply recorded (hence the drum machines and lack of real instrumentation) and the fact that many of the songs themselves are less than memorable, this is a wonderful HISTORICAL DOCUMENT of the Motor City experience. Hundreds of artists, at the time without record company contracts, were brought together and given a second chance at recording. Many made no money from these recordings, yet something valuable came from this period - these artists are now preserved visually and audibly. I, for one, totally applaud this package. It is fantastic to have these rare videos and to observe many of these artists in a last ditch attempt at rekindling (or finally establishing) their careers. I applaud Ian Levine for making the effort to give them that shot, though tragically, he did too much too quickly with poor production and little to no promotion... Still, this DVD set is a wonderful historical document of a gallant effort...

A couple artists looked like they were filmed in a broom closet and it ...
Dear Lord what a mess. Everything is (poorly) lip-synched...nothing LIVE....barely the artist! A couple artists looked like they were filmed in a broom closet and it was hard to make them out from the brooms! A couple of the women looked like they had been rolled in a vat of glitter. A sad ending to what was once glorious. I don't want to remember these wonderful artists like this. After watching this....I truly felt depressed.

Forget this Motor City
Not what I expected. But it was great to see some of the older motown stars. Wouldn't recommend this DVD. Pass this one by.

Not the real original
Its nice to have the dvd, but the quality is not that great. besides that are the songs remixed. And the playlist isnt that filled with real hits. If you're looking for that, disappointment. If you want the rather unknown songs, than its a great buy
