Must have!
I've own other brands like De Buyer, Matfer, Lodge, etc. But this Made In's blue carbon steel is so different than the rest. Yes, it is a bit thinner to those of comparison, but I've found that being thinner, yields a bit more versatility and quickness.I work from home, so it's vital that I'm able to just turn the gas on, and my pan is extremely hot (like it's very hot), much hotter than those I mentioned. It's a noticeable difference. There are things I did notice. I noticed that the manufacturer seasoning, it is a bit more difficult and takes longer to apply the "natural" seasoning from just following the additional seasoning and natural cooking process. The manufacturer seasoning is less non-stick.I have both 10 inch and 8 inch. On my 10 inch, I noticed that when I stripped away the manufacture seasoning and have my own natural seasoning apply itself over time. My own seasoning is much more non-stick than the manufacturers, delicate eggs, omelettes, bacon, potatoes, anything delicate won't ever stick. It's actually more non-stick than teflon.Overall, this pan is amazing. This broke my brand allegiance to other brands like De Buyer. The shape is to die for. I love the higher than normal sides but fits your standards lids.

Not worththe trouble
I have followed the directions included with the skillet as to how to season it. I have done it 4 times now and still everything sticks to it even when I oil the pan prior to cooking. No idea if I season his skillet more if it will get better but it is not worth my time when there are so many other products on the market that do not require this amount of time and effort. On top of all the trouble it is just ugly! I would never let anyone see it if I were cooking for them as it looks dirty.

Great all around pan
Very happy with this pan. The smooth surface has been easy to clean (especially when properly seasoned), I like the high sides compared to other frying pans I have, and for carbon steel it is a nice weight.I started investing in carbon steel pan as a lighter alternative to cast iron. Carbon steel isn't exactly light, but it's a decent weight without being too heavy. The Made In Cookware pans seem to be a little bit lighter than my Lodge carbon steel alternatives. The high sides have been good for keeping things in the pan, and the slightly rounded edges have been good for one handed flipping. Also the bottom of the pan is flat, so oil doesn't run out to the edges like it does in my Lodge pans.Handle is fine, I find it comfortable to hold and use. Again, better than the Lodge carbon steel pans.I am very happy with theses pans and think they are reasonably priced for what you get.

The quality of construction #1!
I like the fact that has advantages of caste iron but not the disadvantage of weight. The pre-seasoned was out of stock so ordered un-seasoned skillet. used the can of seasoning shown, worked well after 3 layers of it. Premium skillet.

Love/Hate relationship
I don’t think it’s worth it as it doesn’t stack up to the wonderfulness that is my new nonstick pan. This one is temperamental- eggs stick, salmon leaves acid discoloration where it took off the seasoned pan layer while cooking. There’s a lot to remember of what to cook in it and what not to and then it all seems to stick. Ugh.

Love this pan
I love to use Made-in blue carbon steel pans (12", 10" and 8"). They heat up beautifully fast and even. Don't use them long enough to have nice non-stick surface, but getting there. I love the weight and balance. The handle looks awkward, but is very comfortable for me.

This pan SUCKS for making eggs over easy!!!
I seasoned it per the instructions, followed them to the letter and stunk up the house with the smell. Eggs will absolutely stick until the bottom is crunchy - just like the way Grampa used to make 'em. Blech! I'm sure it works great for finishing steaks in the oven but for eggs, it completely SUCKS!
