I have seen many bags listed as safe for overhead use and then the flight team removed them from the overhead bins to be checked. This bag was PERFECT! It fit beautifully overhead and I had no issues taking it on or off the flight. It worked on both domestic and international flights.The wheels move well but they do stick out a little bit more than my old version of this bag. The bag also rolled stiffer than my previous pathfinder (which is still in use by another family member) but I’ve only used it a couple of times so I’m still open to seeing how it “breaks in”.I’m very happy with the pockets and internal space. I rolled my clothing so I was able to travel 6 days, overseas with this 21” bag. The exterior pockets hold a lot. I highly recommend this bag over others.

Soft luggage that expands but will go overhead on the plane. Front pockets are perfect for electronics with easy access . It expands and doesn't open in the middle like many new bags. Love it

This is an addition to a set I already purchased from Pathfinder. I love the set. They are all really strong and that is what I need when I travel overseas. Luggage handlers are not known for being "gentle" with luggage because they have to handle so many bags all day. These suitcases come through each trip exceptionally. This 21 incher is a great carry-on bag and fits in the overhead compartments nicely without a problem. Love these suitcases and will continue to purchase Pathfinder luggage for as long as I travel. No complaints from me. Thank you.

It's as big of a bag you can get away with as a carry on. Looks like it will hold up as well.

I bought this suitcase but returned it as the "Carry On 21" suitcase description isn't quite accurate. The suitcase body is 21" but the wheels and handle stretch things towards 23-24". So, this could be problematic on some flights if trying to use as carry-on where 22" all-in, wheels and handle, is typically standard (but be sure to check your air carrier specifications - and just citing my experience and measurements).On flights where checked luggage is included in ticket price, you might give this luggage a shot if you don't mind eventually having to check it when at the gate or when getting on the plane if deemed too big. Unfortunately that doesn't fit my travel needs as I want to assure as best as possible my bag is carry-on. Nonetheless, I'm sure on some flights, you could sneak this by as I see several comments here where people have gotten the bag on the plane just fine. As well, I know of one carrier that does allow 24" carry-ons. So, if that's your carrier, this might be your bag.As to the luggage quality and packing room, this piece is excellent. It's more of a lid open like a box style luggage, with a few nice zipper pouches but largely one big compartment -- rather than a split open in half clamshell type, which some people prefer over the big one compartment because they like many separate compartments to organize. But, if you effectively use packing cubes you will never use a clamshell case again when you see the packing space and organizational options you can gain with a bag like this. So, while I didn't use this actual luggage, I am giving 4 stars just from my exceptional Pathfinder experience with another of their bags and from the price, look, sturdiness and apparent function of the luggage, with 1 star off for the sizing description issue noted.In sum, if you have the right carry-on restrictions or sizing needs, this could be your luggage. I own many travel pieces from Tumi, The North Face, Osprey, which are all great, and I have to say, as far as getting the job done, I think the Pathfinder brand is right up there with those names as I can't even count the trips (many hard and long) I've enjoyably made with one Pathfinder carry-on piece I own and the compliments I've received on its functionality, roominess, and toughness. I hope Pathfinder keeps making cool luggage options.Also to Amazon, I returned the bag with absolutely no problem. I just dropped it off in the same box it came in at UPS store and done. Money refunded like next day. Absolutely perfect. Thanks!
