Perfect & ingenious rear light-
This is my favorite rear bike light by FAR. I've used the Knog lights, Bontrager, Planet bike lights, and a variety of cheap blinky lights. One of the main reasons is the secondary light which shines downward and illuminates the ground. It makes me feel more visible and I've noticed that cars give me more room. That might also be because this light is super bright. The battery is excellent and the smart brake light lights up when braking. All in all I just feel safer using this light. My other favorite feature is the seat rail mount which is super discreet and minimal. The light easily twists on and off for charging and is high enough on the bike that's it not obscured by my panniers. I've found other lights which incorporate rubber straps tend to brake over time and just don't look as nice.My only quibbles with the light would that it uses micro-usb rather than usb c but that is the same with all my bike lights. In my dream world these kind of lights would use wireless charging so they could be easily placed on a charging mat rather than fiddling with usb cables. All in all this is the best rear bike light I've used and surprisingly affordable considering all the features. I almost didn't buy this because I wanted to get a "fancy" rear light. I'm glad I chose this one.

Great, but not for long rides
I really like this tail light. It is very bright and can easily be seen on sunny days from a far distance. This is important for safety. I like the tracing light, which projects to the ground. It also lights up a bicyclist's legs, making the bicycle much more visible as whole from the rear. Stop signal is handy. While there are some false positives, it serves its purpose well to notify bicyclists and cars behind about the speed change. The light itself has a very good build quality, there is nothing to complaint about. I love how it attaches to the saddle pole with a twist connector, a smaller copy of Garmin's bike computer connector. It is very convenient and reliable. The only real problem for me is the battery life. It seems to last less than 2 hours on a full charge before switching to energy save mode. So far it works for me, because most of the recent rides I had were just 1 hour long. However, once my rides get longer again during winter season, it will become a problem, and I'll have to switch the light to the lowest power consumption settings to let it run longer, or have a backup solution.

Amazing Light - crummy battery life
A lot of care went into designed this product. I almost got the Bontrager Flare ($65), but this product has “brake lights” which the Flare did not. And it had plenty of other great features. The way it clicks into the holster is nice too! But the battery switched over to emergency battery conservation mode sometime around 1.5 hrs of use. It could’ve have been even earlier, I just noticed it @ around 1.5 hrs. It was on the blink mode, so I figured that would conserve battery already. I expect a light like this to last 4-6 hrs on flash mode. Disappointing, because everything else about it is amazing. I like doing long night rides though, so this isn’t going to work unless I buy multiples. If you only need it to work for like an hour, this would be a great fit. Returned it.

Bright, nice features, but mediocre mounting and no reflectivity
As a light, this works great. The LEDs are very bright and are easy to see in daylight and darkness. The auto sensing feature seems to work well, blinking during the day and remaining solid at night. There are two areas that could be improved. One is the mounting system, which is basically a rubber strap that wraps around your seat post. It works fine for that position, but if you have a saddle bag or rear rack, you won't be able to mount the light on that. It would be great if MagicShine include clips for those use cases. My other grip with the light is that is has no reflective material on it, which means it can't double as a reflector when the battery dies.Edit: turns out you actually can attach the saddle mount to the end of a rack using zip ties. It would be nice if there was actual mounting hardware, but the zip ties work ok.

Short lived Blindness
As others have stated, it is bright but the battery life does not meet what they advertise.I put this on my son's bike as we've had 2 incidences where vehicles either did not stop or had to come to an emergency stop or would have hit my son.So the light is BRIGHT. The rear facing light almost always stays on its brightest setting, which I imagine is why the battery life is shortened. The "smart" brake sensing feature doesn't seem to work well or consistently. The downward facing light does seem to work when the light senses it's dusk or evening hours. We usually go for 45min to 1.5hr bike rides and this has lasted 2 rides. On the third ride, it was in battery saving mode and would only flash the main light at it's lowest setting. The light is easy to install and remove when needing to charge but the plastic flap/cover over the micro usb doesn't fit well and may allow water in.
