Queen of the Damned (BD) [Blu-ray] by Warner Home Video

I've watched this movie a ridiculous number of times. I never get sick of it. I don't get why people hate it. Stuart Townsend was sexy as sin as Lestat and he does broody narcissist rather well. I do not find him attractive outside of this movie. The vampire aesthetic worked for him.Jessie is kind of annoying as a character. She's basically an obsessed stalker fangirl who thinks she's way more special than any other girl because she read Lestat's diary so she ~knows~ him. At least she's cute/hot though, I guess.I wish they explained how Jessie came to be a Talamascan. I wish they explained how Akasha came to be. RIP Aaliyah. Hard to believe she's gone. She did evil very well. She was mesmerizing. YES Akasha should have been more central to the story. They could've written out Jessie to give Akasha more screentime, but Aaliyah was also super busy when filming this (she was recording an album and shooting music videos as well).And can we talk about the amazing soundtrack by Jonathan Davis!? Honestly he totally set the tone of the movie. It's steamy, it's sinful, it's pain and death. If you don't like metal, you obviously won't like the movie. This movie is actually what got me into metal.TL;DR: I tried to read the book once and got bored. I appreciate the movie for what it is. I saw Interview With The Vampire, but I prefer this more modern rendering of Lestat. (I can't believe I have to say this: It's WAY BETTER than Twilight!)

Great price for what I ordered

contrary to other opinions most of the fx were good; Stuart Townsend did well at times and over acted at a lot of others; music is awful; the story-line is above average; twisty; the ending is weak but worth the time spent;

Great movie, addicting to watch

Aaliyah was fantastic in this. Even though she was in it for only a total of 26 minutes, she is what made the movie for me, although I enjoyed Stuart Townsend as well. Aaliyah passed away a few months before this was released in theaters, so it's really sad she didn't get to see her work as it should have been seen. This movie sort of butchered the book so I don't really see it as an adaptation. It's a bit cheesy at times and the story felt rushed, but for me, it's worth watching for Aaliyah.
