Lunar Tides Semi-Permanent Hair Color (43 colors) (Aurora Green, 8 fl. oz.)

This stuff blew my mind. I’ve used so many brands of semi permanent color and this one washed out completely clear! How??? No purple running in the shower it was mind blowing. The orchid purple appeared super bright in the jar. I have dark hair but my previous purple washed out and I had some slightly bleached highlights I wanted to turn purple again. I did a spot test on a small piece and left it in for 30 min. It was a much deeper purple than I expected and not bright at all. So I went for it and covered my head, opting to keep it in for an hour since it wasn’t touching my scalp and I wanted it to be deeper color than the test spot. Unless it fades super fast, I can’t imagine anything being better than this! It had no bad smell at all, and yes- there were purple dye marks on the towel I was resting my hair clips on while I added dye to sections of my hair carefully, but no kidding, once I washed it out ZERO color leakage. Where did it go??? The dye is thick so it’s best applied with a coloring brush in sections. I had to rinse really good because I couldn’t tell if it was still in my hair since all the water was running clear!!! Incredible sorcery. Truly magical.

I bought Fuchsia Pink hoping to replace Pulp Riot Countess because this is $10 cheaper. The color match isn't exact. Lunar Tides is A LOT brighter and a bit more pink, but that's solved by adding a bit of blue and some black. I honestly love this dye. It doesn't bleed like my hair did when using Pulp Riot. I'd have a stained towel after every shower, but not with Lunar Tides. It also has amazing lasting power. I wash my hair everyday and it's been over a week since dyeing my hair and it's still very vibrant. I only washed my hair with cool water for the first few days and went back to hot/warm water too. Will definitely keep purchasing this brand

Tried the Smokey Mauve color to see what would happen. I had a blonde streak in my hair that I knew would take and the rest of my hair was a gamble but I tried either way. Was hoping for a slight tint for my darker hair but it did not take. It did give me a nice purple streak, but it was definitely a bit brighter in color than I expected. Either way, easy to use dye :) Would definitely recommend. Also it came with a cute little sticker :)

Alright so, I am a quick shopper even online, I’ll check reviews and pictures and maybe check out a YouTube video to see a better view of the color. I however didn’t notice it was vegan, I tend to avoid vegan products because simply I have not found any that meet my expectations for what I need or expect. I understand if it’s a lifestyle/ethical choice, more power to you, live your truth: but me personally, this brand now added to the list along with arctic fox are thumbs down for me. Arctic fox bleeds non stop everywhere, seems to permanently dye anything but your hair, and washes out in about 3 washes. Now with this productPros:-it did not stain my skin, that was cool-it’s pretty thick so I did not make any kind of mess apply it, again cool-if you want like a fun little change for about a week, this is perfect because it washes out quick.-it didn’t bleed onto my clothes or bedding, or skin when washing my hairBut that’s where the pros endCons:- I couldn’t grip the seal so I used a safety pin to help me get an end up, some of the product came out on the safety pin and I saw even though it was thick, for hair color it’s fairly translucent. Red flag if you are experienced in regularly dying your hair 😩 if you want a lighter version or very temporary color it would be ideal, but for vibrance and hang time NOPE.-just when I rinsed it out, COLD WATER, and used no shampoo I could tell it was going to wash out quick, and I was right, it lasted about 3 washes total, pretty much gone after the 2nd wash honestly. My hair is not over processed or anything that would contribute to loss of color at that rate. I even use baby shampoo since it’s no harsh chemicals and honestly has helped preserve my colors better than any “color saving” products on the market.Another thing I didn’t favor was it didn’t stick to my freshly bleached roots. Again experienced hair artists know that usually will be the brightest spot, as well as bleaching helping seal color in if you do it correctly in a time period.So PRETTY MUCH if you want something temporary, or you’re wanting to test drive a color but not ready to commit; this is perfect.However if you’re looking for something that is long lasting, this is not it. May be a basic bih but I’ve been doing this for 17 years and have tried dozens of dye products and ion color brilliance I personally don’t feel can be beat. Extremely vibrant color, very minimal bleeding/transfer after coloring and even that just depends on the color, you may not get any bleeding or transfer at all. It also lasts a long time, as well as fades evenly so you won’t have splotchy hair as it fades, you’ll just go through lighter shades ofItself.

At first I was a little nervous reading the reviews and people saying it washes out after only 3 washes but it really just depends. I think if you recently bleached your hair this product works the best. I already washed my hair 3 times and every time you shampoo the color comes out but my hair is still very vibrant. It is only a temporary hair dye, it’s not suppose to last. The application was very easy but don’t make the same mistake I did and comb the dye through your hair. I ended up having some streaks very light and others very bright. Although I kind of liked it like that so I left it. I bought the orchid purple for anyone who is interested, 2 of the 4oz jars was not enough for my hair length I would have probably needed 3 to give people an idea of how much. I hope this helps
