A Writing Kind of Day: Poems for Young Poets

Love anything Ralph Fletcher writes.Book full of short, easy to use poems.Already inspired many of my students to write their own quality poems in response to reading this powerful writing.

I will carry this gem of a poetry book with me in the car for a quiet, contemplative moment. Ralph Fletcher is an inspirational poet for children and adults. This title will be used with children where I volunteer. I may even purchase another copy as a gift for a special fifth grade teacher I know!

I teach high school English and am very found of mentor texts. Fletcher is the KING of mentor texts. His work is used throughout the year in my classroom. This text is easily accessible and great for starting quick-writes. I highly recommend it!

This book is over priced. And, the poems are average. My 8 years old kid asked why I wasted money and time on this book. I don't know why other people gave it high marks. This book is definitely a waste of money.

I have not used this yet, plan to in the coming school year. There is nothing else to say now.

I have decided to read more poetry to my students and I like the poems that are in this book.
