Ivory is still a smidge too dark for me but it's not pink or orange. It has more of a beige tone which makes it look more like you got a little bit of sun instead of an oompa loompa. I really really like the formula. It has a bit of tackiness to it which gives my skin a very natural healthy look to it. If I apply finishing powder too soon it looks powdery, so wait a minute or two before you apply powder. I only have to touch up once throughout the day, twice if I've been really active. It doesn't cake or melt off and the coverage seems to hold up nicely after an 8 hour day. Surprisingly, it doesn't settle or crease in any of my fine lines under and around my eyes or in my laugh lines. I apply with my fingers to fill in my pores then i smooth it out with a damp beauty blender. This is the first foundation I've had that didn't make me look older or like complete crap at the end of the day and i don't have to use primer under it! Covergirl foundations are know for oxidizing so go one shade lighter if you can. If you need something for mature or dry skin and are looking for good coverage that looks natural, this is for you.

Despite the fact that I was shipped the incorrect shade (the Amazon warehouse sticker said Soft Sable, but the mfg sticker underneath clearly stated Golden Tan) I still wanted to review this foundation.After I received my refund I went straight to my local drugstore and picked this up in the right shade. I am IN LOVE. I have combo/oily skin and it still works wonderfully. Not sure if it's because it's a moisturizing (without being greasy) foundation, it keeps my pores sufficiently satisfied, or what. But I don't notice any extra oil production.PROS: The finish is beautiful! A nice soft matte finish.Lasts all day.Transfer is minimalIt's loaded with things that are good for your skin.CONS: Shade range is garbage. Luckily for me, I'm Soft Sable in all Covergirl foundations, but they really need to expand their shade range.THE SMELL - if you don't like fragrance, you're probably not going to like the smell of this. It's like perfume and rubbing alcohol. It doesn't last after it dries down.Claims to be full coverage - but if you use a beauty sponge to apply, it's more like light to medium coverage.It's SUPER thick, and it seems like I'm going through the bottle rather quickly (I wear makeup M-F for work)I will definitely be adding this to my drugstore holy grails ♥

As I’ve aged, I’ve struggled to find a good foundation that covers smoothly but does not cake or crack. This foundation has been a game changer. I apply it with a brush and it makes my skin look so smooth and lasts all day. It is light weight and does not irritate my skin. No caking, no flaking and no dry patches. Unless my skin changes dramatically, this foundation will continue to be my go to.

I've been using Covergirl's Aquasmooth for many years so when they release a new foundation I am always inclined to try it out.I picked up my normal shade in Covergirl foundation which is Classic Ivory. This shade typically matches my skin perfectly and I really like that Covergirl foundations generally have more of a nuetral undertone which I prefer for my skin tone.This foundation comes in a sleek square glass bottle with a locking pump. The cap is kind of a cheap feeling plastic though.This foundation has SPF 20, is Oil free and claims that it is a hydrating full coverage foundation with vitamins and an antioxident.The consistency is not incredibly thick but it's not runny either. It lies somewhere in between.The first thing I noticed about this foundation is the scent. It smells soooooo good, unlike some of their other foundations that smell paint like. I personally find the scent pleasant as I'm applying. The scent does dissipate after it sets. If you've ever tried Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum foundation it smells similar but imo better.This foundation claims that it's full coverage but I have to say that it's more of a Medium coverage as it doesn't necessarily cover redness from breakouts with one layer (I have one little breakout on my jawline). However, It is buildable without looking cakey. You still may need to spot correct with concealer depending on your needs. Although it does a decent job of concealing my under eye area.What I really like about this foundation is how easily it blends into the skin and how lightweight it feels. It's one of the most comfortable drugstore foundations I've tried in awhile. It honestly feels like you're not wearing any foundation throughout the day.I have combination skin which means my skin is oily is some areas and dry in others. This foundation is very hydrating and I don't feel like it clings to any dry patches and it doesn't make my oily areas feel more oily. I also have larger pores on and around my nose and have fine lines under my eyes (I'm 34).This foundation doesn't pool, separate or crease up which is really impressive.The reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is the oxidization. It does dry down to a shade deeper, but since it's summer it's not that huge of a problem for me personally. Because of this I would recommend considering going down a shade, especially if you feel like you're between shades. I will definitely be picking up a shade down from Classic Ivory, and the fact that I'm going to buy another shade is really a big deal for me.I have worn this foundation with Primer, without Primer, with powder, without powder, with a setting spray and without a setting spray. I've found that I prefer this foundation without primer altogether and without powder except on my t-zone. I feel like the Primer interferes with the wear time. With Primer I notice it wears about 6 hours before starting to fade a bit in my oily areas. Without Primer it lasts about 9 hours on my skin before fading a bit in my oily areas. At about 7 hours I need to blot, but this is typical for me and usually comes a lot sooner so I'm pretty impressed.I've found that application is a lot better with a beauty blender rather than a brush. The result with the beauty blender is a lot more natural looking and the brush gives a lighter coverage so I ended up using more product and it made it feel a little heavier and it felt more like it was sitting on the skin than sinking in like it does with the beauty blender.This foundation hasn't broken me out which is a huge deal as I'm prone to breakouts with new products.One of the other issues that I notice is that it's a lot more difficult to contour with my Kevyn Aucoin sculpting powder. I have to use quite a bit more product for it to show up.All in all, I'm really pleased with this foundation overall. I love the finish. It's matte without looking too flat, the wear time is fantastic, the coverage is beautiful but not overdone and it's so lightweight. I would recommend this foundation wholeheartedly for dry to combo skin. Just keep in mind that it does oxidize when you're choosing a shade.

I've become a bit of a foundation addict and definitely found my fix with this product!! I recently began applying turmeric and Greek yogurt mask nightly, to fade hyperpigmentation. I wanted to continue "caring & repairing" my skin while wearing makeup. I searched for affordable foundations which also contained spf. This product has spf and additional skin nutrients. Many online reviewers stated the shade had an olive undertone, and I feel as though I finally found my perfect match! I'd been purchasing warm and even sometimes neutral undertones. Sometimes I'd look a bit orange and other times a bit ashy. This is a very lightweight, yet medium/full coverage foundation, with an olive undertone, yet a warm finish. My skin looks so silky after applying this, and feels just as soft. I don't use a primer and still find it to have a very smooth finish, with or without the rose water setting spray/finish I apply. Definitely worth the price! Needless to say I'm quite impressed.
