I’m an old school photographer. I started before we even heard of digital anything and way before photoshop! I used softboxes with those metal spines that was a massive wrestling event that always ended in sweating just to put it together. I never took em apart for fear of more fighting matches. They took up way too much space and forget traveling. I’ve been waiting for someone to reinvent the soft box and my prayers have been answered. It feels well made and the fabric is nice. I’m very picky about quality. I was expecting a “Walmart “ cheap level of quality to be honest because mostly we get what we pay for and this was not too expensive. I mean not dirt cheap but not the $250 of my past old school boxes. I think I paid $40 or around there for this. I love the portability. Getting it back in its bag is not super easy it’ll be a bit of an effort I can tell but even if I can’t get it in the bag it’s super easy to get it flat as a pancake. And that’s how I store it now. The diffusion seems fine. I haven’t done comparison tests yet but just from my eye it’s not much different so I’m happy!!! I’ll be buying more.

Easy to setup, the quality of the softbox is ok, it's the folding of it can easily go wrong that concerns me.

Softbox is OK but I don't like Bowens Mount Speedring, it's too loose on softbox, I return it

This product met my expectations in most areas except two. Far and away better than the slightly cheaper neewer version in regards to quick assembly and portability. Overall excellent concept, however my two critiques would be 1. The soft box does “droop”. After assembly and mounting the box tends to sag downward. 2. Bending the fiberglass rods and twisting and folding....I’d prefer to chase and wrestle an overly eager puppy for its favorite toy than put this thing back in the bag. All of that being said, I’d still prefer it over the neewer version simply for the time saved not having to “assemble” it and once you finally have wrestled it back into the bag it doesn’t take up very much space. Definitely gets the job done, so I’d take the small struggles.

This Soft Box is a great value but be sure to watch the tutorials BEFORE you open the box. It's spring-loaded and ready to whack you in the face if you don't open it carefully ... likewise, folding it up is easy IF you watch the tutorials. Once it's assembled it works like a dream ... soft even light.

We have other softboxes that technically do a better job but they are expensive and difficult to travel with. This is great for a quick setup and it packs very easily. The clips and elastic holding the interior diffuser are really the only aspects that feel cheap and flimsy. Great option at great price.

These are good quality overall, but unless you're mounting them on an S-bracket they can be a pain to mount using the supplied Bowen's speedring. The internal metal tension band has also started to buckel the shape of the outer edges that help control the light. For ease of use, I prefer Adorama's line of Glow EZ Lock softboxes and dishes.

Die Softbox (in Kombination mit dem Godox S2 Bowens S-Type Blitzhalter) ist perfekt für mich als Hobbyfotograf, Portraits werden nahezu perfekt, beim entfalten erlebt man gleich die erste Überraschung, das Ding tut das von selbst mit der Energie eine Sprungfeder. Über das wieder zusammenfalten auf Transporttaschengröße hab ich mir den Kopf noch nicht zerbrochen, es gibt aber einige Videos auf YouTube dazu.Scheint eine ziemliche Herausforderung zu sein.
