Blood Meal 25lb Bag

I bought this and bone meal to mix my own fertilizer mix. I use coconut coir and compost and vermiculite or perlite depending on plans. I like being able to mix my own. This is right size, enough to use on multiple feedings (1200 sq foot garden). Light, easy to store comes in sturdy box with plastic bag that is durable. Lowers fertilizer cost overall. Will buy again. Also use on open soil and raised beds. Excellent product and easy to measure.

Very much a believer in natural gardening, and taking after my grandad who was a gifted professional horticulturalist and victory gardener, I use bloodmeal, bonemeal and fish emulsion to augment the soil in the veggie garden every year...it produces the desired results, a great crop and I don't use chemicals. The worms dont mind it either. I love this huge bag of bloodmeal...it was well sealed, perfectly dried with no clumping and enough to treat and augment my entire raised bed garden

Great nitrogen punch for veggies especially onions.

Couple of things to know about blood meal...squirrels actually stay away but if you have any sort of scent hound, they will go crazy over it. Raccoons can too, but even on acreage next to a lake in a veritable forest no coon has attacked the vegetable garden (knock on wood!). Secondly, while blood meal smells better than other organic fertilizers, it clearly smells like blood, so i wouldn’t necessarily recommend it for those who are scared of blood.With all those caveats out of the way, i can tell you that this blood meal came in a durable, double layer bag. The blood meal showed no sign of clumping and was a perfect, homogenous powder. Blood meal is a great way to augment nitrogen levels in the soil if you start to see evidence of nitrogen deficiency, lIke yellowing of leaves. Lots of people have lots to say about organic vs non-organic gardening. While i would say i lean towards organic, i will use other products if i see a need or on certain plants. That said, this blood meal exceeded my expectations and i felt like it was of better quality than some big name brands who have tried to capitalize on the popularity of organic soil amendments.

This came packaged in a tightly sealed, heavy plastic bag, which is super important considering what moisture does to blood meal. I have a horrendous problem with rabbits, and I believe they are twice the size of normal rabbits. The damage they do is outrageous, not only do they destroy shrubs, including picea (evergreens) but they destroy my fence boards and anything else they want to chew on. I have used blood meal as a fertilizer for years, and realized that it also works on getting rids of rabbits. THIS blood meal is incredible for both purposes. I have not seen a rabbit now for two weeks since I used it and my hosta and perennials are ahead in growth. I'm a very adept gardener and know quality products, this is one of them. Their customer service is also amazing. I know I will be re-ordering this.

Bought this to keep the deer and rabbits from eating my plants. I mixed with cayenne pepper and it worked. It doesn't smell nice , which is the point. It is kinda expensive but it saved my investment in my flower garden.
