Easy Cars Lego kit to build and lots of fun to play with
This is a really fun and easy kit to build. It is an even more fun vehicle to play with. The car is a great version of Lightning McQueen with his Rust-eze emblems showing. The launcher is easy to operate and is manual (no batteries). You simply place McQueen on the yellow bricks of the launcher, push down with one hand on the launcher to hold it in place and, using the other hand, push/flick back on the red “button” lever and the car will launch and go for up to a foot depending on the surface it is traveling on.My almost four year old grandson is graduating from Duplos (which he has had since one year old) to Legos. We had tried some of the poly bag kits and some smaller 3-in-1 kits which work well. When I saw this Juniors kit in his favorite Cars theme, I picked it up hoping it would be easy for him, too. It is! It is great. He still needed some help but it is an excellent step up and theme for a younger child who is moving up from Duplo. A lot of the car is molded for ease in building (for instance, much of the chassis is one piece, the pegs for the tires are built-in and the bumpers are rounded and attached to each other.)

perfect bridge between duplo and lego
Bought for my nearly 4 year old as a surprise just before visiting Legoland. He loves it and disassembled and reassembled it every chance he gets. The instructions are simple enough and the pieces are different enough in color and shape that you don’t have to search and search for the right piece. Our only complaint is that the red and green “light” pieces are easily lost but it’s a good lesson for him about being responsible for your toys (although including a set of extras would make life easier). He loves the set so much, he’ll be getting a lot of lego junior kits for Christmas.

With help, my 3 year old Grandson was able to complete this kit
My grandson is 3 and a bit advanced, but could assemble this kit with minimal assistance. Once assembled, he has played with it numerous times, pulling pieces off and reassembling with no help at all. This was a great kit - perfect for his age and really fun as a "toy" once assembled.

Still small pieces
So, even though these are junior, my 4 year old was still not old enough. This is an awesome set and he loves it, but I put it away for now because the pieces were just too small for his fingers. I will bring it out when he is better able to play with the super small pieces.

I gave it to a three year old and he loved it
Fun for my three year old that loves McQueen. He puts it together and takes it apart all the time. It's easy for him now but was difficult in the beginning because it is recommended for older kids. Cheap price for leggos I thought so I got it as a stocking stuffer.

Great gift
My son loves his McQueen car. He just turned 3 and easily assembles and disassembles the little car.

Best for Over 5 Year Old/Don't Lose the Pieces!
If you are not familiar with the Lego Junior sets, here is the run down. The Legos are same size as the regular Legos. So tiny pieces for you tostep on and feel a pain beyond your wildest imagination is highly probable. These are not a size of Lego that is between Duplo and Lego, which is what I initially thought they would be. It's what I hoped they would be. Instead, Lego Juniors are the first step to learning how to build sets with Legos using instructions. There are fewer pieces and the builds are more simplified for a younger child. The instructions are similar to Ikea instructions, no words, but pictures that show you each step towards your newly assembled Danish minimalist furniture. The instructions are actually easy to follow and my five year old can mostly figure it out. However, I would not recommend this for any child under the age of 5, and I would highly advise to supervise while building. When I mean supervise, I don't mean just be in the room. I mean actually be there next to your child. Why? Because at 4-6 years of age, kids want to play with the Legos. It's not about building and thendisplaying them, they want to actually roll the cars around and move the people and have the cars crash into each other and the people jump off of buildings. Why is this a problem? It's not a problem until the pieces go missing and then you cannot build the set anymore. Lego Juniors does not realistically take into consideration that its intended age target plays rough and they are not going to be mindful to keep track of all the pieces. Thus, this exposes one of the issues with specific building sets. With free form building sets losing several pieces this is not much of an issue, but since every piece must be placed in a specific order, upon losing several, the set becomes unusable. All that being said, if you kid loved Cars 3 and loves Legos, then this is the set for you. Just to give you an idea, this item retails for $9.99. Over the holidays, it was on sale here on Amazon and at places like Target, Walmart, and ToysRUs for $7.99. I've seen it retail for $12.99 at small independent toy stores. In addition, do not buy any Lego building set without a Lego tool. A lot of these sets have flat pieces that will get stuck and the Lego tool is your only key to sanity of getting those buggers apart! LEGO Classic Brick Separator 630 Building Kit

Fun beginner lego set.
I put this together with my 3 year old and the parts were easily recognizable so he could help follow the directions. This was his first "real" lego set. The pieces are the regular size not enlarged. It was a cute little car when it was finished and fun to start building with him.
