GREAT DISTILLER! Descale the unit for a long and lasting use!
While it is possible that some of the bad reviews I've seen for distillers result from faulty units (mine is fine), I think there is NO REASON you shouldn't thoroughly be satisfied with this distiller. I suspect that some people are just not descaling the water reservoir after EACH use. Face it: tap water has a LOT of crap in it; when you distill, all of that crap stays in the reservoir. A lot of it calcifies and becomes very hard to remove (scrubbing doesn't do it!!). IF YOU LET IT BUILD UP IT JUST GETS WORSE. The trick is simple: white vinegar. Use about1 cup of water and 1/2 cup of plain white vinegar (you can add more vinegar if you like); FOR FAST DESCALING, pour in the diluted vinegar mixture and run the unit WITHOUT the cooling top and let the vinegar water boil away the calcified remnants of your recent distilling (takes about a minute or two; don't let the mixture completely evaporate; POUR OUT THIS SCALDING HOT MIXTURE before wiping down the inside). Whatever doesn't boil away is now loose enough to wipe away with a regular sponge. OR, you can just let the vinegar mixture soak for an hour or so and the calcification wipes away. The unit should serve you well and for a long time. This one makes EXCELLENT tasting water.

Amazing... The first batch I did was purified water from my RO
I wanted to see what my 5 stage reverse osmosis system with added charcoal filter wasn't getting out of the city water. At first I thought my water was pretty clean until I distilled it with this awesome machine. There was a disgusting grey, very sticky film in the tank after distillation, kind of like the chemicals sprayed on us and our food from the climate movers. It was so sticky I should've put gloves on bc it stuck on my arm and hands. Worse yet, I tried plain city water.... Wow!? What it removed was amazing. Reverse osmosis can't get some disgusting dangerous chemicals that can harm your health like nicotine and glysophates and more, but distillation cleans so purely with no plastic containers which may be BPA free but never BPS free which are hormone disrupters. This machine is a great thing for me since I am paranoid about bad chemicals, heavy metals, and whatever else is in even filtered water. If you have children you should use this for fresh clean water every day or if you are pregnant, I wouldn't use anything else. Now, I only drink distilled water. You can add trace minerals which Amazon sells or health food store has.You won't regret getting this machine for health and wellness. Also , if you have an Ill family member or friend, get this for them for life. Every thing we can do to help our selves to feel better is worth a couple hundred bucks, in fact we owe it to ourselves.

Works Well!
I've been using this water distiller for about a month and a half. I turn it on every night, and each morning wake up to nice, clean water. I chose this distiller specifically because the carafe and filter are both glass, not plastic. (I didn't see any other distillers in this price range with glass filters). I'm really happy with it! I had some questions and contacted the seller, who was very helpful. It's super easy to clean - I pour a bit of vinegar in the bottom, let it sit for awhile, then rinse and wash it with water. Looks quite nice on the outside.I use a timer that automatically shuts off the distiller after about 4 hours - this way there is still some water left in the bottom. This way, it is not relying on the distiller to overheat and "trip" to turn itself off when there is no longer water in it. I learned about this in reviews for other distillers. I find doing it this way to be very convenient and is supposed to be safer, cause less contaminants entering the distilled water, and prolong the life of the distiller.

Toxic taste in water
The first unit I received (I think?) was some open box (?). The reset switch was hanging off a bit and every time I ran the water, even after 15 times it smelled toxic and I could not drink it. I cleaned it many many times and no change. The company stepped up and sent me a new unit for free, and it was packaged differently and works stellar. My water tastes pure. Thanks ECO LLC for making it right, and I recommend your product to others now.

About a year later...
Bought it Sept 2020. Working fine from the start. First pic is typical residue from 1 gallon of San Diego Municipal water. Some white scale, and a dark brown precipitate. Easy to clean with a kitchen sponge with a soft scrubber side. But the 2nd & 3rd pics, are not so fine. Taken after cleaning the residue, they show corrosion in the 304 stainless. I first noticed it only a few weeks ago.I'm not a metallurgist, but I have some experience with 316 stainless instrument packages in the ocean. So I know that under certain conditions, such as low dissolved oxygen, or under paint that contains chlorine, even 316SS can undergo serious corrosion.I'm disappointed that the conditions in my distiller are causing this. I expected a long service life. That's not a sure bet now.

Glass container breaks easily
I bought this distiller a month ago and love it. It is easy to use and seems to distill the water properly although I don’t have a way to measure that. The lid on the glass container fits VERY tightly. Last week, I distilled some water and when I poured the water out, I saw that the glass container had broken. I contacted Amazon and they replaced the whole machine. The new machine came and I distilled water yesterday. Today I tried to pour some water out of the container and this glass container had broken too. I don’t know why it broke, but I was very careful not to press the lid on tightly so it wouldn’t break. I won’t give them a third try.

Magical droid distiller
This distiller is like magic. I live in an area that has high salt in the well water. Got tired of going store for fresh water, this machine is easy to clean and it makes a gallon of water fast. Just under 4 hrs to make a gallon. I highly recommend if your looking for clean drinking water.

Seller stuck with the commitment despite several mishaps
Renergy (the seller) was very committed to making sure I got the product even through two issues. The first issue was an incorrect tracking number that lead me on a wild goose chase. I contacted them and the straightened this issue out immediately. The second issue was the carafe that came with the unit was shattered during shipping. A second email to Renergy and they immediately dispatched a replacement from Hong Kong which arrived promptly and in one piece. I was very pleased with the seller's quick and efficient responses. As for the unit...I have only run one cycle with it and as other reviews say there is a slight electrical odor to the water but that's to be expected. I'm confident this will dissipate over time. Until then I will just use the water for my plants. I did notice a number of blossoms appear on the tank after the first batch that somewhat dissapeared after using the provided cleaner. I will keep an eye on this over time to see if it becomes an issue and hopefully report back on this. The unit is well built and does exactly as advertised producing just short of a gallon of distilled water. I also use a timer to shut it off before it boils dry.

Glass cup filtration spout
The media could not be loaded. Best Water Distillation System Of iTs Kind. iTs FAST evaporates a gallon in 4 hours. However if you put a cheap timer on it that cuts off the power 20 - 30 minutes early (based on how much matter is in it), you will not spoil the taste of the water by frying the chemicals on top of the stainless steel before the unit shuts off. Frying salt, iron, chemicals and minerals in the water will flavor it without any particle(s)/matter being in it.The glass jug and filter spout are glass, delicate, easy to break if you're not super careful and knowing what you are doing is a big help. So i enclosed a video with my product review and iTs my first real one so i hope you like it. The way i have my machine setup the water only touches stainless metal and glass which is great. The seller was excellent, i communicated with two people that had no problem replying faster than i could keep up. There was never an issue with their help as they were very, attentive, courteous, and respectful. The machine itself was shipped in A1 condition and was undamaged in perfect condition. Enjoy my video & Merry Christmas to ALL

Working good so far!
This order took a few weeks to arrive (not Prime) but the seller was very attentive and responsive. This is my 3rd distiller. It looks exactly like my other distiller I bought a few months ago that lasted only 4-5 months and started rusting out almost immediately inside and on the outside where the rubber gasket sits (cheap stainless steel coating). This one seems to be built of better stainless steel quality and the rubber seals around the plugs give added protection. It even has a glass water cup that goes inside the stainless steel cup cover and after having made more than 2 dozen pots - the water taste is very good. It comes with a 1 year warranty which is why I went with this unit. My other 2 distillers did not last even 1/2 a year (with similar cost) so I'm hoping this one will last longer. Very good instructions included. Be sure to read the instructions and to not get the exterior wet. I clean it every day with a sprinkle of pure distilled vinegar at the bottom of the pot and scrub the bottom and sides with a plastic scrub brush. I wipe the top lid as well and make sure the outside is dry. It cleans really fast and looks new. I could never get the rust stains out of my last unit. My only complaint and suggested improvement to the seller is that the stainless steel spout that sits on the carafe is too short and doesn't reach the stainless steel cup cover so you have to line it up perfectly to avoid leaks. A longer spout makes it much easier and gives you that peace of mind that the water will drip directly into the carafe. I am using the longer spout from my former distiller (second pic - shown on the left). The spout provided will still work or not use it at all. I also keep it on a drip tray as my last distiller leaked on to my wool carpet and ruined it.

Noisy and smelly
I chose this water distiller because it has a good price and a glass container. In my first distillation with this machine the water came with an unpleasant metalic smell. The second time the same. I am using the water destiller for health reasons, so I cannot take the risk of getting more metals in my body if I can avoid it. So I have decided to return the machine.
