Fantastic, Easy-to-Use, Heavy Duty
I wasn't sure about this tool, but WOW - what an upgrade from standard toenail clippers!! I ordered one and now I'm back to order three more to give to people in my family. In addition to using personally, I care for people with disabilities who have thick, almost horn-like toenails, and I've had them purchase their own. I also do foot care for my elderly mom, and this tool makes cutting other people's toenails safer, quicker and easier. A FANTASTIC tool.

EXACTLY the nail clipper I wanted. (Thank you, Amazon reviewers!)
I carefully read sellers' descriptions and several Amazon reviews of this item and competitors' before settling upon it.My first inclination was to buy German -- Solingen to be more exact. Products manufactured there (while expensive) have a reputation for excellent materials, fit, and finish. But I read several less-than-complimentary Amazon reviews of Solingen-manufactured clippers -- stating that the springs were prone to fall out and that the jaws sometimes closed with gaps or poor alignment. I did not want to drop around $40 for a pair of nail clippers that failed and had to be returned. On the other hand, I was a bit apprehensive upon reading that this item is manufactured in Asia -- although sold by an excellent US firm.My ultimate choice of this item was partially based upon the seller's description and partially upon other Amazon reviews ....I liked the length of the handles -- I have tough nails and wanted to maximize leverage.I liked reports that the edges of these clippers were sharp and smooth, and fit together truly and without gaps. And, I liked both the Amazon description and reviews regarding manufacturing materials -- I wanted stainless steel, because I have seen (even expensive German) clippers corrode with ordinary use and cleaning.I was not disappointed in any way. These clippers are "keepers," made of excellent materials, thoughtfully designed, carefully machined, and proportioned for easy use on the toughest nails. I anticipate (based upon my initial experience with them) that I shall keep them as lifelong workhorses.I would like to take this opportunity to thank my fellow Amazon reviewers for giving me guidance on this item that turned out to be truthful, informative, and thoughtful!

Basically good, but...
Overall I like these clippers. They seem quite well made and finished. My issue is with using them. I have decent grip strength and my toe nails aren't particularly thick, so I was surprised at how difficult it was to cut my nails with these clippers. It took a while to position them in such a way that I had strength enough to actually get the job done. The toenail scissors I had been using, which were shorter than these did the job easily, but the sharp points on the long blades were a problem. These have longer handles, but I have to hold them towards the end of the handles and try several times to get the job done. That being said, once I was able to actually clip the nails, the finished job was quite good.I think that these are good clippers, but not for someone without good grip strength.

THE MOST IMPORTANT GROOMING PRODUCT I MIGHT HAVE PURCHASED
Of course, I would love to have a professional pedicure done when needed but in my case, it would be only if I am traveling and I could not do it myself. I have had my ingrown (big) toenails taken cared of by my podiatrist and I am not very happy how lightly salon pedicurists would clean my toenails for fear of too much cutting of the nails and cuticles around the nail bed. I originally bought the Kohm WHS-800 for my husband who every now and then would have thickened toenails. When I used it for the first time to do my own pedicure, gone are the nicks and cuts typical of when I use an ordinary nail clipper of worse the cuticle nipper to cut the corners of my toenails. This tool is a lifesaver! The ease of use, the grip, and the precision of how it is slightly bent at the end to get to just the right angle where you want to cut your nails. I am never using an ordinary nail clipper anymore. This is it! Thank you for a most wonderful grooming product.
