Easy to use
Huge improvement over a hand pump sprayer and battery powered sprayers which come with gallon products. I like the long wand and the powerful spray, which comes from either a single nozzle or dual nozzles for more coverage. I have lots of Makita tools, so this made sense for me. The shoulder strap helps, but is on the cheap side. There is a fair amount of liquid left in the container when it stops spraying, which is probably due to placement of the flexible pick up tube. Time will tell how this tool, largely plastic, holds up, but for now I am pleased with its performance.

Extremely efficient
I was surprised that I could cover so many square feet with just a single fill. My cheap backpack sprayer would need three to four gallons to cover the front yard, this sprayer did with just over a single gallon.I bought this unit because I wanted a Makita sprayer that used the LXT battery system. So far, every makita LXT product I have bought has really been of high quality and works well. The weight is perfect too. I use this sprayer to put down pre emergents, insect control and weed killers. Im not a pro, but I feel like when I am using it.It’s easy to use and even the battery from my makita drill is enough to power it, which is a 2AH battery. Definitely worth the $.

Works effortlessly. After 3 hours, stopped working.
Unfortunately after 3 hours of usage, the handle micro-switch stopped working. It appears the little spring-loaded tab is stuck in the down position. Trying to find a replacement has been impossible. May have to buy the whole handle/tube assembly from Makita.

Takes most of the work out of spraying
If you already have a Mikita drill/driver set this is the only good choice for the occasional user. I use mine a few times a year, and I always have a charged battery when I want to spray a little. The sprayer takes some getting used to the tank separates from the top motor and pump which is difficult at first but after five or ten tanks of spray I am now very comfortable with the operation. The sprayer comes with two nozzles one for spot spraying and the double nozzles will cover twice as much area in just one pass. When I first got my sprayer I would rated it 3 stars, today you couldn’t take it away from me and it gets 5 stars.

Finicky
Not a robust Makita product. Do not leave any chemicals in this sprayer for any length of time or else the pump seizes up and or the pump filter clogs. This sprayer has to be flushed out completely after every use; it's not easy to clean or fill or anything else. You can only use water soluble products. Any type of oil or solvent will destroy this sprayer. I finally went with the Dewalt backpack sprayer. and all my troubles disappeared. This sprayer does not have a diaphragm type pump and therefore all the solution you are spraying has to go directly through the pump mechanism and can likely cause problems without close supervision. Don't even be tempted to spray any kind of deck sealer or a heavy copper wood preservative, iit will rapidly degrade this sprayer. It does spray nicely If you are cautious and use only light weight water soluble chemicals and clean the sprayer immediately afte each use.

Bad Gasket Material
I really like the sprayer as I do all my Makita Tools. However, I feel the gasket material Makita used is a design flaw that I think needs addressed by Makita Engineering, so I can't give it 5 Stars! After about a dozen uses with only spraying weed killer, the gasket swells to the point it will not stay attached to the sprayer. I called service and support and they said they have not seen or heard of this issue before and to take it to a service center. New gaskets are about $6.00 each in which I've ordered 2 spares. Just installed a New one and it fit like it should. Just wondering if anyone else is having this issue and if so, what solution did you come up with other than installing a new gasket. Also included a photo of a new gasket installed.****Edit 5-12-24**** I "Modified" the gasket in order for it to stay where it belongs. It seems to be working ok. While you should never have to alter a part to make it work (especially from a company like Makita) this only took a few minutes and seems to have stopped the gasket from coming loose. Once the 'Pins" in the gasket are seated in the holes, drill a tiny 1/16" hole down the center of each pin and insert a #6 x 3/8" long Stainless Steel Sheet metal screw down throught the center of each pin, wedging it in place. I removed the pump housing from the tank about a dozen times after the "Mod" and the gasket seems to be holding in place like it should. Maybe this can help someone else since it doesn't look like Makita is willing do anything about it. It could easily be fixed by using a round O'ring type gasket like so many of the other tank sprayers use. Why try and re-invent the wheel?! I added a photo of the screws in place.
