Unrefined Raw Organic Virgin Shea Butter by Makes 3 Organics - Better Shea Butter (8 Fl Oz)

I bought this because I have very sensitive eczema prone skin. I ordered the lotion twice and both times the packages arrive intact. It is a thick balm and it doesn't rub in as smoothy as lotion but if you rub it between your hands before putting it on your body it seems to do the trick. Much better texture than some other shea butter formulas I have used. My skin had improved since I have been using this shea butter - definitely worth the extra effort to put it on!

This the first shea butter I buy so I don't have anything to compare it with. I don't mind the scent but the first time it was too strong, I'm used to it now. It's very thick and I would say greasy too. It takes very long to melt, after months of trying to work it out, I ended up just using it before bed. I put a dab on the back of my hand while I'm doing my night skin care routine, go to bed and play on my phone a bit and once melted I rub it in. It takes a lot more time to absorb, if it absorbs at all. I still find spots of my hands greasy when I wake up and I'm pretty sure it's because it's on my sheets or pillow case from moving asleep. Sometimes I just wear gloves after rubbing it on. I stopped using it during the day because everything I touched would get greasy, (mouse, keyboard, phone, eyeglasses, you name it!) It doesn't matter how little you use. For these reasons I don't use it every day anymore and if I want to use it, I'll do so at night before bed.I gave 3 stars because it's EWG certified and because I found 2 other uses for it: for use as part of a DIY deodorant recipe and a DIY hair mask recipe. It works great for these purposes although I wouldn't use it as is on the hair, it leaves it way too greasy.And finally, the cap arrived broken. It's a plastic cap and it was delivered on an Amazon envelope/bag. I ended up repurposing a metal cap from a MaraNatha almond butter and worked like a charm!I probably won't be buying again.

Have dry, rough skin with some KP. I’ve used coconut oil but, it’s a hassle to wait for it to absorb. I’ve tried other thick lotions but, they fail to help with KP. I’ve wanted to try Shea butter for awhile. When I saw this was highly rated on EWG, decided to give this brand a try.Likes:EWG verified (highest rating)Very moisturizing but, not greasyVery natural scent (not obtrusive or irritating)Contains jojoba oil (I use this on my face and love it’s affects)Dislikes:Extremely thick- I use it immediately after shower. Takes some work to apply!Takes some time for this Shea butter to liquidate enough (with heat of hands) to apply to skin.I’ve thought of adding more jojoba to dilute or mixing with coconut oil. Trying to decide what to do with remainder of product.For now, I’m applying this to the roughest patches of my skin (legs and forearms). Using another body butter for rest of body.Tried mixing small portion of this with another body butter “lotion.” No go! Very waxy texture-couldn’t apply. Looked at ingredients again and no wax....perhaps the nature of Shea butter?After this is finished, I’ll try another brand to compare. Not giving up on Shea butter yet...

I love this product after showering while still wet. Great for self massage and a good organic moisturizer!

Lid came cracked, they need to step up their packaging for the price I payed. The scent is odd, the texture dosent melt right away like other shea and coco butters I have used. BEST thing is that it is VERY moisturizing. The WORST number thing is that it makes hair super sticky when used in ANY quantity, the smallest bit of this will have your hair acting like a lint roller, picking up everything amd and keeping it there too, also is just super tough to waah out (of black and mixed hair). Basically buy this and use it in skin if you don't mind the STRONG smell, but I wouldn't recommend it for hair. Very very pricey as well. I don't think I will ever buy this again.

I don’t usually write reviews but after my daughter had another eczema flare up all over her back and tummy this was the only ointment I was able to apply to her dry scaled fragile skin. She didn’t cry and now she partakes in the nightly ritual of rubbing this stuff all over. She loves digging her little fingers in the jar. She is 18 months old and I don’t use any harsh chemicals, fragrances, or soaps in her skin. This has helped tremendously with her outbreak. I’ve just ordered my second jar, and it will remain a staple in our skincare routine from here on out.People complain about the scent but I usually diffuse some nice essential oils in the air before bed while we rub and work this into the skin the scent dissipates fast. I’d rather the natural scent of Shea then harsh fragrances and toxic chemicals.

Hard to spread and a little greasy, but smells like Shea butter should. I wish there was more jojoba oil in it though.

Love this product! I use an app to look for clean products and it was on there. I was searching for something that would moisturize as I'm pregnant and my skin is stretching and very itchy. This product provides instant relief, I use it every night and will definitely be buying again. All ingredients on the list you can pronounce and know what it is. It took about 3 weeks to deliver but so worth it. I'll be getting it for all of my friends with a 1st time pregnancy. Highly recommend!
