This thing is very well made. The reviewers that said it is not true to size don't know what they are talking about. It's likely they don't know the difference between ID and OD. If you have 2.5" OD pipes you are trying to connect then buy the 2.5" item. If you find that it won't fit (I.e it seems too small), take the bolts all the way out open the band a little to get it over your pipes, then reassemble. If there is any question which is the right size always go smaller. For example if you have 2.4" OD pipes then get the 2.25" clamps. You can make a small camp hold pipes that are a little too big but you will be 100% out of luck of the clam is bigger than you pipe. Unfortunately I listened to the reviews that said it runs small and ordered one too big for my application and had to Jerry Rig it to make it fit. Still works but would have worked better if I just went by the factory specs. Again, these things are great would definitely use again.

I got on of these to fix an exhaust pipe that had corroded away at the union on my f250 and it worked great but when I lined everything up the union on the other side of the y pipe came loose I ordered another on and the second one I received was missing one of the radius blocks that go under the nuts I had to make it work for now since the second pipe I had to fix was hanging loose at this point hopefully I can get a new block sent to me so I can install it correctly they're tight and a little bit of a pain to install on a 2.5 inch pipe but tight means they will work at this point it is essentially holding my exhaust together until I find someone with a pipe bender would have been 5 stars if I had all the parts for the second one

decent quality, mostly I am satisfied.I hooked my 2.5 inch Truck Muffler inlet and outlet with this(F150_1998) .The bolts may be little short when you try to assemble with pipe and this butt joints because sometimes things are not getting perfectly lined upthen you need little longer thread in the beginning of assembly, That's why I wish the bolts would be little longer.However, I used my own longer bolts to tighten it up. It worked perfectly. It is recommendable to someone who has an old truck and don't want to replace all components of muffler sets without welding. I just used aluminum foil tape to seal the joint, then covered outer surface with this butt joints. If you want to seal in between joint more securely, there will be "Permatex Muffler and Tailpipe Sealer" which I didn't use, kind of laziness. Nice product!

Don't make the same mistake I did. Read carefully, this is for a butt joint, not slip fit. It is a TIGHT fit on the pipe, seems like it would work as well as a clamp possibly could for a butt joint.UPDATE- came in handy.. Got a hole in exhaust. Was about to take it out and weld it up and remembered this. Quick lazy fix, and it's holding up so far.

The Smartparts clamp states on the box, "made in USA", but looks crude. Cruder than the big name brand made in China clamps. But the price is right and it gets the job done. I use these types of clamps over lap joints instead of the U-bolts style. They hold great and seal well. And if the pipe is a slightly smaller size and you're worried about a good seal, cut a soda can, wrap it around the pipe and slip the clamp over it. The soda can will act as a cheap gasket.

I installed this product when my Magnaflow (stainless!) exhaust pipe seemed to either rust through or disengage with the original clamp.I have a 2006 4Runner with the Magnaflow Catback kit.The Good:Seems to be high quality stainless. I could see this being tricky without a large impact tool. My small driver just didn't do it.I would buy this again and use it.

Normally i read amazon reviews before buying but thought what could go wrong with this as I been using clamps like this from jegs. well i guess like others said this will not work on 2.5 inch tubing. this is for smaller. there is nothing wrong with product as it is very high quality. the size in description could be better. 5 stars for quality. 1 star for wrong fit based on description. 3 stars overall.

3 stars, it didn't fit my 2.5" glasspack on my 2002 Dodge durango RT. This thing is actually pretty sturdy and stiff, I bet it'd be cool if it fit. If you have a 2.25" muffler inlet/outlet this would probably fit, a 2" pipe would fit perfectly in this thing. Don't buy if you have a 2.5" pipe, it won't fit! I made this mistake. :(
