King Kong Collection (DVD) (w/sTin) (3-Pack) (Best Buy)

All three King Kong movies in one set and in a decorative metal tin box to boot! The original King Kong has got to be one of my all-time favorites. I have loved this movie since I had first seen it on tv growing up in Camden,NJ in the late 50's. I never even liked those cheap flimsy remakes of the 70's and I didn't even want to see the remake version of the last one. Following along in King Kong's footsteps are The Son of Kong and Mighty Joe Young. Mighty Joe Young while it is about a gorilla that becomes a giant, really is not a part of the King Kong story. It is a completely different scenario, although I can see why they made a part of the trilogy. The Son of Kong was a really fascinating sequel to his "Pappy". It has just as many spills and chills as the original. Everyone from the original film, except for Fay Wray, returned to do it all over again. Miss Wray's replacement in this film was Helen Mack.She was a very viable replacement although I would rather say the Fay. If you love stop-motion picture action flicks like I do, then this set is for you.

Great films. The cards came damaged. The surface was peeling off. Not to worry. I sent the seller a picture of them and he mailed me replacements. at no cost. Thumbs up. Good seller!

Two of the movies listed, Mighty Joe Young and Son of Kong, were not included. I am very disappointed . A real rip off! The product information was erroneous and misleading. Decorative tin was bent. Movies missing. A real bummer!

Great to see OG Kong is still out there!

Watch the Disc 2: King-Sized Special Features first and you will have a greater respect for this movie and the era it was made. The only downside to this set is that it is not offered in Blu ray.

The description of The King Kong Collection shown in a collectible tin is actually JUST King Kong (1933), and does not include any other movies. For some reason Amazon has it listed as having the sequel SON OF KONG and the spiritual brother MIGHTY JOE YOUNG along with it. What you do get is the two disc special edition of KING KONG in a collectible tin with a lot of extra packaging and artwork. It is on DVD, and is a great package if that is all you want. But if you want all three films there are other options such as the non-collectible DVD which has KING KONG and SON OF KONG on a set...

My father in law absolutely loved it! So I was happy and it would have earned 5 stars.. however... you know the original black and white posters you have to send $3.50 shipping/handling for (no big deal, Ill just tape a check to the gift right) is no good. You have to send the check in by like May 31, 2006. Yes, 06! LOL, I was slightly annoyed to be over a decade late, but other than that its AMAZING!
