Sotya Japanese tetsubin Cast Iron Teapot Cherry Blossoms Kettle Stainless Steel Infuser 1.2L/40oz Black

Just received this teapot, it looks better than expected. It is also smaller than expected, but perfect for two or three people. It is made in China, so may not be for the purest. This style of cast iron teapots originated in Japan, however, there is no secret in the technique, so there is no reason people from other countries can not master it. For me, I am looking for a Japanese style cast iron teapot, beautiful, inexpensive, with enamel coating inside and can be directly boiled over the stove top, and this one fits the bill. My only concern is that the flowers on the teapot look very uniform. My guess is that they were stamped onto the sand mold, not hand carved individually.

The only thing I didn't like about this was the coating on the lid wasn't done well and we're getting a little rust around an edge because of that. Other than that, it's beautiful, sturdy, holds heat well and keeps the tea warm, and makes a good big pot of tea. It has an included internal tea sleeve for loose tea so you can mix up your own, and we love it. Recommend.

It is beautiful. I like the color and the detail of the flower on the pot; however, I did not see anywhere indicating it was made in Japan so I have a little bit concern.

I'm glad I bought this. I love it!
