Very easy set-up you will need to purchase 4 AAA batteries. You will need to charge the intercom for the house. I would also purchase gorilla tape to ensure the intercom stays secure. I tested it out! Omg clear and loud. We have so many people ringing the wring doorbell and I live on the 3rd floor running down the steps for other people. I had to put a stop to it. I am very satisfied and happy.Also the person outside had to hold the button down to talk. I had to but a small note on my doorbell. If they push and let go, it sounds marbled. If they hold the button down and talk it's clear enough where you understand them.I am still very happy with my purchase.Thank you.

This doorbell is OK for the money but the receiver doesn't hold a charge very long so you are best off leaving it plugged in also the ring is a little campy. On the ringer there is a tiny screw to replace the batteries so if you were to use the double sided tape included it would be a pain to swap the batteries. To remedy this I used velcro instead of the double sided tape that came with the unit. Intercom works good a lot like a walkie talkie a little distorted but gets the job done. The doorbell can only ring the bell until the receiver presses their talk button and then the ringer can hold to talk back to the occupant. I saw many reviews saying this unit did not work and this may be the reason they though it was dead out of the box.

Used as intercom for elderly relative living in in-law apartment one floor down. Works as advertised - but you get what you pay for. It's really a doorbell. Receiver must always be plugged in to power for some reason but will work for short periods off power. Would be better if the receiver end could be used as intercom without waiting for sending unit to call receiver. Even though it's simple, it's not great for 80 yr old with memory impairment who forgets all he has to do is push one button to "call" the receiver. It DOES work when used properly. Can't comment on battery life because of very light use.

These are great. I actually use them for my children while they’re playing outside it’s an easy way for me to notify them to come inside for any reason so I’m not having to yell out my door disturbing my neighbors. If they get too far it does get staticky but typically for normal use that shouldn’t be an issue.

Should of have more than one ring tone

I wanted to be able to push the button and talk to the family member that is sitting on the front porch,but my button only works after the door bell button has been pushed first

I still have no use for the intercom so guess that is just where I live. As for the doorbell, I've found it to be SO loud that it's painful & I'd rather someone knock then even use this. Yes it works & works just fine but they really need to put a way to adjust the volume if nothing else.

Wow, as a gentleman with a disability, living on the 2nd floor of a house, to be able to carry around the doorbell receiver and intercom to let people know I am home and will be a few seconds longer to answer the door is such a piece of mind. And the installation was done in seconds. For the price I paid for it, the value is incredible. Easily the most useful and needed thing I’ve purchased in sometime.

Ok for a short distance, like condo, not so much in larger home
