Calendars in the Dead Sea Scrolls: Measuring Time (The Literature of the Dead Sea Scrolls)

I'm sure the book is thorough but what I was looking for was not in the book. Very crucial fragments are missing from the calendar scrolls so now eveyrone is making gross assumptions about when a given year begins. The other sticky point is that the English translation is either not fully accurate or someone has taken license with it.It would be even better if they provided the actual true language with the English transliteration for each word.The most tragic thing about any and all calendar books is that there are so many flavors of ideas and concepts out there. How can anyone know which one is correct without ALL the TRUE and ACCURATE text?While this book does include the fragments that are intact, it does not mean anyone reading it will know everything there is to know about the real calendar of God. Not yet anyway.

This is one of my favorite books ever as it defines calendation issues even among the Qumran community, but exposes a long held secret that the true New Moon appears to be the full moon after all.

History lessons. Good for all.

This is the 3rd book in a series on the Dead Sea Scrolls and I found all 3 to be absolutely fascinating bring a refreshing review to my religious beliefs.
