A Great Read
I would highly recommend this book. Phillips does a great job capturing what life was like in the early 1900s.

Interesting!
A sharp, witty, brief analysis of a young man's rise to power and influence, along the way losing his ideals and commitments, selling his soul for a mess of pottage..Well done, in short insights, dialogues and scenes, almost like a script...sad and depressing, bitter and cynical..no happy ending here!

A reminder of a different era
Inexpertly written, but compelling in its plotting. I read this on a whim after finding out that one of Joseph Pulitzer's employees wrote it and it was interpreted as a cutting analysis of Pulitzer's rise to fame and power. When read through that lens, it's worth a go.
