I didn't believe it would dampen the sound so much, but I got so fed up after yet another night being awoken by a midnight rainstorm that I decided to give it a try. And I am SO glad I did. Installation was SUPER easy. It's just foam on a big magnet so you cut it to size - and it's easy to cut with regular scissors - and then just stick it on your unit (making sure the surface is clean first!!).And that is all it takes for quiet, peaceful sleep during the rain.I enjoy the soothing sound of a thunderstorm again. And it really does stay in place. It survived Texas torrential rains and even a thunderstorm with ping-pong ball-sized hail just last evening. If you're thinking about it - do it! I highly recommend.

I gave it 4 stars because rain hitting it in the same spot repeatedly will wear it down eventually. I’ve had mine a year and it’s starting to show in the spot where rain drops off of my roof in one spot. It’s not a major issue, but it won’t last forever. Aside from that I don’t understand the complaint I read in another review because mine, while not completely silent, muffles 90% of the rain noise on my AC. My AC is huge, so the cover doesn’t (cover) the entire thing, there’s a section exposed. So the difference from bear AC to covered section is night and day, loud tapping to a muffled barely audible tapping. It’s been rainy all day and pretty heavy rain today and I only noticed it at all because of rain hitting the exposed section. It’s way better than nothing. I used to have a pillow strapped on top of my AC with a Bungie cord, which also works extremely well, but has the downside of getting pretty gross. I’ve been hoping for a sale so I can buy another one and cover the exposed section of my gigantic AC unit, I have a 23500 BTU unit. It’s not completely silent, but it’s a great choice in my opinion, and the magnet holds it in place quite well. We’ve had some crazy wind this year and it hasn’t budged. It is a bit pricey considering what it is, but worth it for a single solution you don’t have to think about or invest time into.

This product, which has instructions explaining exactly how to install and use it, is well-conceived and useful. It is easy to trim, and it adheres to the air conditioner quite well. It muffles the sound of rain, and serves its purpose nicely. I'm happy with the product, and I would buy it again.

These pads fit my large 1400 btu AC perfectly. The sound of dripping from the AC in the apartment above is GONE! They clean easily with a dust pan brush. I’m buying more so I can give them to all my city dwelling and apartment living friends!

This is a great product! It works much better than I expected. Just a few weeks ago, there was a heavy downpour that we weren't even aware of because the drip cushion absorbed all the noise from the rain. We only found out when we went into another room and looked out a window. Another nice side effect is reducing the splash from drips/rain into the windows. By the end of the season, I usually have to give my windows a thorough cleaning because of the water spots. I think I'll only have to do a light cleaning next time.
