Bought this because our downstairs toilet was draining slowly. Got the job done in less than 10 mins. It is simple to use.

I had serious blockage on my kitchen sink.It really worked. I have used a similar one before but this one is smoother and easier to feed. I am very happy with the result.

Like someone else's review, I never write them and was a little apprehensive on so many poor reviews, god knows what they were using it on. My plastic waste pipe running from the kitchen sink behind fitted cabinets consists of four 90 degrees bends. I couldn't shift the blockage with a plunger and what made it harder was a double sink. I googled to see what could help and came across this gadget. Forget the bad reviews I.e. it goes rusty etc but thought this was my last resort for a reasonable price before I would have to pay for a professional. Watch the video on this. I got the wife to do the winding with around a meter each time while I pushed a pulled a little until it became to short and then pulled out another meter to feed in. I did pull it all the way out a couple of times and started again. It did drag out a load of crap. We did this from both ends. It didn't get all the way through but certainly loosend the blockage. I put the u bend back together after around an hour's work and finished of with the plunger. Couldn't believe the muck that came out.Absolutely brilliant bit of kit, although it takes a bit of work. So, just go a head and buy it, a no brainer.

I wanted something to use to get stuff out of the drain. This not easy to use. Definitely not worth buying. Had to return it as soon as I used it. Maybe I used it wrong but I did go by the instructions and it still didn’t work. Not great quality unfortunately

This cleared blockage in the u-bend under sink but didn't work after that, as the real blockage was much further down the drainpipe where this wire was not long enough.

We had something blocking the shower drain in our flat pretty deep down. I managed to use the snake until it got to the main building drain and it pushed the blockage. I counted 5 corners.Very happy with it, definitely worth trying before spending a couple of hundred £ on a plumber.

I had so much doubts before - I saw pictures of those ones with defects and read comments of those suggesting not to waste time, not to bother. I had a full blocked kitchen sink connected with pipes with multiple turns. I educated myself with the video of the product and some from YouTube. Finally completed the task with patience and trials. Water flows again. Last time I used professional service cost £220.

Had a blockage way down the pipe which has glued fitting so i couldn't just take the pipe apart and clear it like a normal person. chemical unblockers did nothing, so i got this thing because it appears to be a manual version of tools I've seen professionals use. first it wont fit down the drain grating on a sink as it shows on the photos, second don't unscrew the grating as its part of the seal. drain the sink from the u bend with a bucket underneath and access the pipework from there. the device itself feels a bit flimsy and i expected it to feed itself through the pipework as i rotate the handle. it doesnt work that way you have to pull the wire out and feed it manually down the pipe til it reaches the blockage, then you can spin the handle to drill thorough the blockage. it takes a fair bit of effort to get the wire to the blockage if you have lots of bends in your pipework. once the blockage is clear you have a gunk coated wire spring that you need to force back into the device, it doesn't wind up by turning the handle, you just have to stuff it in there. i advise having a rag to wipe it off as it will be coated in gunk and you don't have a sink to wash it off yet until you replace the u-bend and you don't want to put it away full of stinky goop.took me two tries to clear the blockage but it did the job in the end

Bought this one for backup. I used my friends snake to clear up my kitchen drains. Glad she had one. This is the one she had.

To open clogged or semi-clogged drains it works well. Needs a little practice to get motion right with the length of coil pulled out and anchored down. Use caution when tightening thumb screw. Gloves and sink drain hair remover item is a nice touch.
