BEN DAVIS Machinist's Apron
S**Y
Now made in China... never again.
I used to purchase these aprons because they were quality aprons and they were made here in the USA. I've been buying Ben Davis machinist aprons for over a decade for myself and all of the guys in my machine shop. My most recent purchase didn't look the same. Upon further inspection I noticed that tag looked different and read that it was now made in China. Thanks for outsourcing your product, laying off American works, and somehow expecting them, and other American workers, to keep buying your product. The worst part is that the price is actually more expensive now than it was two years ago when I bought my last USA made Ben Davis apron. My shop is built on buying everything possible USA made to support my guys and other fellow American workers. No thanks Ben Davis!I paid $24.99 in January 2015 for the American made apron. I paid $27.99 for the newer Chinese made apron. Bend Davis is a disgrace and has turned it's back on our nation and its workers.

Looks great Works great seams coming undone
Purchased this for my husband to keep his shirts from getting splattered with machine oil and grime. Very familiar with Ben Davis - growing up in the CA bay area and was happy to purchase. I did read a few comments about the aprons made in China as opposed to the US and disappointment in the quality. I have nothing to compare US to China quality - but sadly - the seams are coming apart after 1 washing and 1 week of wearing. It does the job - keeping his shirt fronts clean and the price was right - but how long will it hold up? If the price point is attractive - then purchase - I may buy one 4 times the price for a Christmas gift instead.

Wish it was American made, like what I produce every day I put it on.
Heavy duty, not the best if your shop gets hot... built to last and more durable than just about any other brand available. It would be nice if the tie string wasn't so long. I'm 6'2" 200lbs and I've got enough left over to tie a Bridgeport behind my back. D-rings are better than the competitions eyelets but the pockets on your chest aren't quite deep enough for a 6" scale not to stab you in the treachea on occasion. Wish it came in toolmakers white and slightly thinner fabric for those cleaner and hotter days at work. Bring back production to the USA and I would gladly pay more.

Too nice for work
I'm a machinist and this thing is too nice for work.Maybe the home shop....The only downside is that it isn't made in the USA.

MADE IN CHINA
I purchased my first Ben Davis apron because it was made in america. Wore extremely well and laundered very well. Ordered a second Ben Davis apron, thinking it would be made in America. This one is made in China, according to the tag. Does not wear or launder as well as first apron. WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER BEN DAVIS APRON or any apron MADE IN CHINA!
