I need to say now I am just a person who likes incense. Nothing magical, no idea what makes "high quality".In the bag this smells amazing. Woody/earthy almost like fresh dug top soil and a vanilla or "creamy" sage finish.When it's real hot like directly on coals or on fire it really just smells like average burning wood. But when it's indirectly heated with coals or smoldering it's a perfect mix of the base smell and the wood.Do I like the smell? 100% yes.Texture. The only reason I care about texture is if it's too powdery it gets everywhere and it's hard to use or it's so lumpy it won't go into my incense trail molds. This is on the powdery side but not the worst I've had.How does it burn? This is why it's 4 stars. Putting it lightly in the included ceramic burner, leaving a peak to keep the trail going. It will not smolder. The spot I light with my jet torch lights on fire but goes out before I can blow it out and then it smolders for a maximum 5min and just stops.I buy powders as carriers mostly. I don't want much of a scent. I want to add my own. This is a little strong smelling for that limiting me to only use complimentary scents. I also don't currently have a good way to indirectly heat powder. So do I mix it with something that burns better? I'm not sure yet. But at the price I don't feel cheated.
