My son asks me to read everyday
High quality and so fun to ready. My only wish is for the authors to publish more books.

A great book, even for parents with subpar mandarin
Our baby loves BoBo’s books - the illustrations are very cute and colorful (but not in an obnoxious way). It’s really helpful to have the pinyin there too since I’m an ABC that didn’t care enough to learn how to read Chinese, but can speak it. The content is nice as well since it talks about our traditions. I hope the author and artist make more books!

toddler appropriate and engaging
This is one of my toddler's favorite books. We had the BoBo Loves Dumplings book first which was a quick favorite, so we were excited to hear this one was coming out. It is very level appropriate - color and cute illustrations, not too many words, but not too simple to not be able to grow with kiddo for the first years of life. My husband didn't grow up speaking Mandarin so he is very grateful to have the large pinyin text alongside the Chinese characters vs. some of the other bilingual books we've been able to find where the pinyin was either not included or in extremely tiny font.

Cute! Wish there was a traditional Chinese version
We are a dual language household and always love to add books to our collection. This book (and another in the collection “bono loves dumplings”) is super cute, well illustrated, bright, and easy to read.Only gripe is that I wish there was a traditional Chinese version available, but we still do not regret the purchase. Agree with others that $15 is a tad pricey for a board book, but I would still recommend.

Engaging on multiple levels of language proficiency!
I am not raising my kids to speak Mandarin fluently, but I would like them to be exposed to hearing the language and common words, enough that they might have a bit of a foundation to build on if they choose to learn more when they're older. All 3 of my kids (3, 5, and 7yrs old) loved the first book in this series, which focused on numbers and food. I was sure this book would be another hit since it combines two favorite topics in our house - holidays, and colors! And I was right! My kids love to page through the book on their own. For the first reading, I read aloud mostly in English but will read the colors in Mandarin. They often repeat the colors back to me in Mandarin. On later readings, I'll switch to reading the story in Mandarin. I'm sure we'll read this book every year around Lunar New Year!

Books I wish I had growing up!
These are the kind of dual language books I wish I had growing up. Loved learning to count with Bobo, and now colors. Can't wait to see what Bobo will teach next!

Does everything right–more please!
The BoBo board books are some of the best bilingual Chinese books out there. Very high quality, good pedagogy, cute, and hits both language and culture. Can't wait for more BoBo books to come out!
