Law School for Authors
I have been practicing trial law in Miami for twenty years and have written several published books about the law. The information contained here accrurately details the ins and outs of the law, gving anyone an ability to detail legal events or character development in a story, play or movie. I think this is a must read for anyone who is writing a legal drama and wants to make it look, sound and feel real. You do not have to go to law school to write a legal themed book. Read this and save yourself three years.

The Writer's Guide to the Courtroom: Let's Quill All the Lawyers
This is a very well written book that tells you what you need to know about the legal aspects of a fiction story, that I've used extensively in my work. I highly recommend the book.

Title is Misleading
The reviewer who said you should read this book and save yourself three years of law school was clearly missing something. While this book is plenty helpful in discussing civil practice, there is zero mention of criminal law. The author specifically mentions that discussing criminal law would require a whole other book. So why is this called "The Writer's Guide to the Courtroom" ? This is a useful book for learning about that area of the law, but horribly marketed and titled. Just know before you buy!
