As a referral-based occasional contract builder of “cabinet-maker” benches, I’m familiar with the choices in heavy-duty casters and floor anchors for bench construction and mobilization. The bench these are being incorporated in will include 6” pneumatic tire casters with this 6” anchor set of 4. The casters + anchors weigh around 75#’s. The bench will include a 2” thick x 8’ long x 32” wide, 200# rock maple top. An unusual 150# pattern makers vise will be incorporated among other side and end vises that add up to say 250#’s. The table's truss framework and angles will be reinforced with >100#’s of custom fabricated 4”x8”x 6” and 4”, 3/8ths thick mild steel angle iron for rigidity strength at all truss angles. I expect this bench to weigh in at >700#’s, move easily, and floor anchor like foundation bolted. My customer fabricates large cabinets, is experienced with lighter weight benches, and seeks a no vibration, solid as a rock solution as a main bench in the shop.Floor anchors and casters work together when bought in the same size. 6” or 5” are generic in this regard. There is no need to do worst-case or tolerancing calculations to determine which you might need. Don't screw this up and try 5" casters with 6" anchors. These anchors are among those generic fits and operations. Installation tip - Do not futz with the release or any adjustment until all four anchors with casters are on the ground and solidly installed. The factory set-up is correct on arrival. Some adjustments might be required later, more likely due to floor conditions, so hold off until you have the whole base installed. The correct hardware for attachment is ½”. I’m using ½” carriage bolts for the top side appearance and Forstner countersinking a 5-1/2” long bolt side on the bench bottom and out of sight. A triple 2x4 laminated into 4x6 is a bolt pattern requirement to secure these floor anchors. The Vestil FL-ADJ-46 Adjustable Height Floor Lock’s are by far the best for a bench on this 700-1000# scale that I've seen. I personally consider the price as everybit the equivalent and utility of a shop tool. One might opt down to 4ea 5” casters and anchors for a bench with an expected load in the 300-500# table including project to save a few $’s. Good building! Was this review helpful? If you need to adjust it out more than an inch it won't work!
They list the adjustable range for their brakes but don't believe it. The first one I ordered didn't work and because it was close to the limit of the adjustable range. At least that's what I thought, so I ordered a taller one that when set where I needed it was right at the midpoint of it's range. It does the same thing as the first one. When released the foot doesn't raise off the floor. So it drags across the floor catching on everything. Now I have 2 very expensive paperweights that I can't return.

Great Product
I got these for my 6 inch caster cart. These are very heavy duty, seriously. Another reviewer said they were big and he was right. It's not that they're too big, they're just a serious piece of hardware. I posted a photo with this review because some people are having trouble getting them to work properly. Another reviewer mentioned the collar and that it is hard to see but an essential piece of the system. This photo shows the disc collar and that is what sets the tension for the cam action. When I first started to extend the feet, the collar tried to come with it. A pair of channelocks was all it took to keep it in place as I unscrewed the foot. Once you get a few turns on the foot you don't need to hold the collar anymore.I did not test the extent of the range as my need is about 7 ⅜ inches but even at that extent the extension screw does not wobble or feel loose at all. With all that being said, these are heavy duty and I couldn't be happier. I have no doubt that these will last forever, there's just nothing to break on them. I do think the company could include a brief instruction set so that folks don't have to stumble through some of this but other than that, and for the price, I highly recommend.

Incorrect measurements in description.
Description is incorrect, like a previous reviewer mentions you can only extend it so long before the mechanism no longer works and you lose spring tension. I adjusted to the absolute maximum height retracted and then extended to where it just barely engages the lock mechanism and its just at 6in in length. If you try and raise it any further the articulating lock will no longer engage as the springs that help with tension are too short. Also at this max length the foot lock becomes very sensative and can disengage with a very gentle bump of the device. Highly unsafe if used this way for any heavy duty use.No paperwork came with the product and the only thing the website shows are blue prints with the demensions showing min/max height no documentation on how to properly adjust. I tried every way I could, fliping the base of the cam lock and stacking springs. It definately has potential for full range based on the center rod adjustments but the springs run out of range well before that. I also found a youtube video from an entirely different company stating they had to purchase a mounting plate as that center rod will protrude if extended too far and then retracted later, it could potentially punch through thinner metals or at the least bend it out of shape. The product is very well made and seems well built but because of the poor adjustments and incorrect range of adjustment I would look for another product from another brand, I should have listened to the other reviews prior but I figured maybe I could get it to work. I was clearly wrong.
