Can't say enough good things about this tiller
Can't say enough good things about this tiller. Bought it for first year garden. In reverse it was easy to turn the soil over and it went 6 inchs deep. In forward it dresses the soil to perfection. It is so easy to use my 70 year old wife controls it with one hand. She loves it and uses it every chance she gets. I have only been able to use it once. Delivery was a breeze and the delivery men were very nice and professional. If you want a tiller buy this one.

Price for POWER
I'll just start off by saying that I live in Colorado where my soil is not necessarily the best - more like rock/sand/clay. I wanted to work on my yard sections at a time without the worry and rush of renting a piece of equipment. Got to say, setup was easy. Solid unit of destruction - fluffed my dirt up 6.5" no problem. The only thing I had a problem with at times are the concrete chunks that the new construction trades left behind in my ground. The tiller obviously found those chunks - it's not meant to break through those pieces like a hydraulic tiller can - but listen - all you do is put the tiller in it's opposite direction of what you were doing and it will just spit the concrete back out and you can throw it in a pile. Don't keep going until you choke the tiller out, that's not smart with any mechanical piece of equipment. If you want to tear through hard ground and start a new lawn like I did - you need a rear tine tiller. Live in hard soil environment? You need a rear tine tiller. Briggs motor - as much steel as possible - 2 year warranty on all parts. I'm happy. You will be too!

This beast started on the first pull.
So far, so good. The delivery came as promised, in good shape, to my rural address. It is a beast, so you might need a helper to haul it for assembly. (Yes, there is some manual assembly required, but not much. I'm not particularly "mechanical" and I think it took me an hour of assembly.) ADD OIL.Then this sucker started on the first pull. I cleared about 550 square feet of grass down to for or five inches in 45 minutes. Hit a couple of rocks the size of my fist, which is about the size of some rocks, for your reference. :) But it just set 'em on top of the ground for me to pick out. All in all, very pleased. I'll update review after I run it some more. I have a lot of ground to break.

Great machine
It was fairly easy to assemble and once I did that I had a problem starting it. It would not stay running. Unfortunately it was on a weekend and the customer service was not open on the weekends, so I had to wait till Monday to get help. Turns out it was an easy fix of disconnecting the oil pressure switch which is something they know about. They should either fix the switch or eliminate it. Other than that, the machine does a great job and really digs deep. Oh, the grips tend to slip off so I will glue them on.

YardMax is a great value!
This tiller has all the features, power, and size of other brands being sold at big box DIY and farm stores...except it is over $200 less expensive. I looked at the competition and could not bring myself to spend the extra dollars. Delivery was timely AND their customer service with a small issue I had is absolutely amazing! I was a bit unsure of this new brand but will be looking to YardMax for other outdoor power equipment needs.

Works real good for old people...
As we've aged it gets increasingly difficult to use our front tine tiller.I started looking for a self powered tiller that I could pull behind the Mower. They are really expensive(to me) so I started looking for a rear tine tiller.Did the research, read the reviews, and Yardmax was always in the top three, if not on top.Got it put together quickly and fired it up.This thing is so easy to control and use. My wife is gonna love tilling up her garden with it.

Does the Job
Box arrived as advertised and placed on dry porch. Easy enough to assemble. Started on second pull. Broke new ground in counter rotating mode. Pulverized the soil very well. With proper care this should last 10 plus years. Would buy again.
