it worked fine and is great
Reading the other reviews makes me wonder if these are a single item or multiple sizes being sold as 1 item. My top rail is a 1X6 and the item I received wouldn't tighten down to 1", I had to put another piece of 1" lumber on top of the rail to be able to tighten the thumb screw enough to stabilize it. I would have guessed that it was for 2" lumber only, but then I read the other reviews. Not sure you'll get a standard clamp opening if you buy it. But, once I put the other piece of 1X on top, it worked fine and is great.

Well...
This does not fit a 1" deck railing. Like another reviewer, we had to cut and add another piece of wood to it. It is a very sturdy attractive hook. It also appears to be pretty well made and unlike another of the same type of plant hook I have, it screws down easily and securely and doesn't lean like the other one. It would be 5 stars if it did not give me another "craft project" to do by having to make modifications to it.

Nice deck hook
It clamped on firmly and is currently holding a medium weight plant basket without a single wobble. Looks good - I've actually ordered a second one so this is a product I'd recommend.

Works fine if you clamp to a 2” platform.
As others have said, the adjustment for the screw on clamp is not long enough. It won’t fit a 1” board but will fit 2 to 2.5” or so. If you can McGyver that like I did it will work just fine for you.

Poor designed clamp
Giving three stars because the clamp won’t tighten enough on a 2x4, the screws runs out of threads. I had to add some screws to hold it tight

Not as sturdy as described.
This product started off well. I put it out in May. It is now August. The tightening mechanism broke off. I was initially happy. I had hoped to get more than a few months out of this product

dont fit
be prepared to modify this product. It doesn't screw closed enough to tighten down on a normal 2x4. I definitely woudnt buy it again.

Hook for my hummingbird feeder
Like the way it hooks onto my deck and hangs over! I can't hook it inside as the railing too thick that side but not the other way. I can watch my hummingbirds on my deck and see them from my sink window too.
