The finish is definitely the darkest brown you can imagine. Very slim and visually very light. Perfect for creating that "finished" look underneath a mirror or piece of art. I may get a piece of glass or mirror cut to place on top to give the table a more polished look. It will hold a lamp, but it will need to be smaller in scale to sit on the 8" depth. If you live near a Room and Board store buy the same table there from their Slim collection for under $180, however they do not show this particular table on their website.

Comes pre assembled which is a big plus. This solid piece of furniture was well packaged. TheTag Urban 8-Inch Wide by 40-Inch Length by 29-1/2-Inch High Console Table is a hit so far.

I do like the size of the table. I have it as a sofa table. Initially I wanted it as a hall table. I like it and it is heavy. Sturdy but I usually don't like to spend too much for something that looks so simple. It is Pricey for me.

I needed a very skinny table to go into a particular spot -- this fits the bill perfectly... I must have looked at hundreds of tables online, and this was the only 8" I found. It is heavy and sturdy. HOWEVER, every time I look at it, I ask myself if I could have gotten something similar for less money. It is such a simple design -- did it have to cost so much?

The table served the exact purpose I was looking for - thin and tall. However, I don't think it's worth the price at all.
